Title: Re: What is it? Post by BikerBob on Mar 23rd, 2007, 5:32pm Hey jb, The Parks Conservancy has a question for you... ------------------------------------------------- "That is a very nice picture of an adult Peregrine Falcon. I'm having a little trouble orienting myself to the exact location of the bird on the bridge. Is that bird perched on the structural support underneath the deck? And from which side, Marin or San Francisco? We have been watching the bridge pair of Peregrines for a few years and they have attempted to nest both on various parts of the bridge and in a couple of different locations on the cliffs above the Golden Gate on the Marin side. This year we've seen them perched both on the North Tower -- their usual favored perch, and also on the South Tower. Thanks for getting in touch. " |

Title: Re: What is it? Post by Kingjames1 on Mar 23rd, 2007, 11:10pm We've got a pair of these 'birds' living in a building on the circle in downtown Indy. They keep coming back and they seem to raise a couple of young ones each year. Pretty cool! You can see them on Indystar.com, Falconcam. :) |
