Title: new neuro Post by Callico_Kid on Mar 16th, 2007, 12:10am Saw a new neuro last Fri who actually recognized CH when I said I have it. ;;D She is quite knowledgeable, and I think I will like working with her. She did talk me into a Pred taper, which Ihave not done before, but now on the fourth day of four I am so dizzy I cannot walk from room to room with out hanging on to everything around me. Earlier tday I was hanging on to the floor trying not to falloff! Obviously, I can't drive like that. Didn't take my third pill yet today, and don't think I will take more than three. Does anyone else have this prob or am I just lucky? Meds and I don't get along well anyway. She wanted to put me on dopeymax too, but I put my foot down on that one! Jerry |

Title: Re: new neuro Post by ClusterChuck on Mar 16th, 2007, 12:20am Nope ... I never had that reaction .. but then I am fairly drug resistant ... BUT, aside from being dizzy (a normal state for me) (Oh, wait, you are talking PHYSICALLY dizzy ... never mind) has the taper done anything to your hits? Good luck with the new neuro! Chuck |

Title: Re: new neuro Post by Callico_Kid on Mar 16th, 2007, 12:41am Not sure if it has done much. I started kudzu bout a week before I saw her, so I'm not sure if it is the Pred or the Kudzu or both, but they have been a bit lighter. jc |

Title: Re: new neuro Post by LeLimey on Mar 16th, 2007, 5:38am What dose of pred are you on Jerry? Am I right in thinking yu're not taking the pills altogether in the morning? Pred should be taken all at once and preferably at the same time (am) each day. I had the same reaction when I first started pred four years ago, I was hanging on to the bed! It did lessen but I was very susceptible to a whole load of the other side effects from it too. Hope it does help you but if it's too low a dose you might not get the benefit you should. Helen |

Title: Re: new neuro Post by Brewcrew on Mar 16th, 2007, 7:26am Jerry, My only reaction to prednisone is that my tolerance for whiners drops into the negative numbers. And Helen has accurately described the way I've always been told to take prednisone - all at once each day, in the morning (to coincide with your body's natural rise in adrenal function). Best regards, Bill |

Title: Re: new neuro Post by BarbaraD on Mar 16th, 2007, 7:43am Jerry, I thought it was just me. Started the pred taper Monday and have been one dizzy dame since then. Have been on 60mg since Monday. Today is my last day on 60 - then I drop to 40. Hope the dizzyness drops also. Let's see Hurt - Dizzy? I'll take the dizzy for right now.... I also started back on topamax Monday night. I take the dose at night and just get a little sleepy on the front and then don't seem to have any side effects. It's been my miracle drug in the past. I'm really glad you mentioned this cause I was about ready to go have my inner ear adjusted (again). Hugs BD |
