Title: Gone pecon Post by stevegeebe on Mar 15th, 2007, 10:04pm I resigned my position with the firm on Monday. Today, after work, at his request, I had beers with the half owner of the company. Yesterday, at the company wide communications meeting the COO, while plating food in the buffet line, wispers in my ear "you can never leave". Why is that when you are on your way out, they have a sudden epiphfany and are interested in your concerns? When you analize a train wreck, most of the time, it is a series of little things that lead to the inevitable de-railment. I have several offers and one is on the Northshore, whom I interview with tomorrow. I'm so tired of heading into New Orleans. It's really depressing. Maybe I'll go back someday....maybe when the get the pumps running. The Empire State Building was built in what...eighteen months? The current flood protection is no better that when Rita hit us. Title: Re: Gone pecon Post by Callico_Kid on Mar 15th, 2007, 11:30pm All the best! Glad you made the change. Sometimes one has to do so for his own sanity. There is nothing more frustating than to continue working in a place where you are taken for granted, Jerry |

(Can't catch fish without drinking some beer -- East Texas Rule #1 in Granny's fishing guide). Seriously Steve -- all the luck in the world. I know you've not been happy for some time. Change is good... Hugs BD |

Title: Re: Gone pecon Post by stevegeebe on Mar 16th, 2007, 4:54pm Thanks folks. Interview went very well. After reviewing my work they are going to get back to me next week with an offer. Interesting side note is that the office fronts on a side alley and from the entry you can see the back of an old yellow house. My first job at an Architectural firm was in that very same yellow house back in 1975. Strange indeed. Steve G |
