Title: Update on the Saga...(15th update)
Post by catlind on Mar 14th, 2007, 9:12am
Well Alex came home Monday night.  He was doing really well :)

Thinks weren't quite as calm as I had wnated them to be as Andrea's pet gerbil of 3 years ended up as lunch for one of the class cats would you believe - so we wee dealing with that as well.

I have about 50 million appt. to make for Alex and all kinds of follow up.  We have to go meet with the school today and I will be putting in a few phone calls as well.

so far so good....lets keep our fingers crossed.

Thanks again everyone for your help and support

Cat

WONDERFUL news, Cat!

You have a very long road to go!  It is a hard road to travel. It is a frustrating road.  It is an aggravating road.  But the end of the road, makes all of it so worthwhile!

There will probably be many times where he will be pissed at you, and even say he hates you (one of the hardest thing to hear coming out of your child's mouth).  There will be times where you won't like him at all.  You will still love him, but not like him.  You have to be strong, to make it to the end.  And you are strong.

It has been about three years since I was in the position you are in.  And although I am not at the end of that road, I can sure SEE the end now.

Lean on Clark.  Lean on us here.  You have many of our phone numbers.  Don't be afraid to use them.

Chuck

I truly wish I had some way to use the words in this  inadequate language to express to all of you exactly how much you've done for me, and in turn for Alex.

When he got home on Monday, things were wonderful, and they were again most of Tuesday.  Then we hit our first bump in the recovery road.  He'll be fine, it's over a friend that he cares alot about, and she ended up in the hospital herself because she tried to hurt herself.

Alex feels he's responsible, that if he'd just been there for her instead of in the hospital he could have saved her.  He suffers the same disease his mother has - the belief he can save the world.

Andrea is having a real hard time with everying - the extra attention gven to Alex (she forgets that it was only 6 months ago we went through this with her and all our attention weas focused on her.

Right now I'm mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted.  I spent pretty much the entire day on the phone trying to get follow up care in place;  the first available appt is April 9th ... Uhhhhhh NO....make it sooner!  So I see his pediatrician on Monday and if anything can be done it will be done.  She is an abovery *friendly* personel gem, if they told me she was leaving and I had to find a new pediatritian I'd be totally lost.

It doesn't help that the 17/18th of this month is the anniversary of my Dad's death either.

I called up to the unit to talk to one of the THREE counselors they have up there, and not ONE of them was available, I must have left 3 messages as well as talked to the receptionist;  Man that pisses me off.

Ah well live and learn I suppose, I guarantee thtat if there's a next time they wihsI would just go away LOL

Like I said though, so  far so good.

Keep up the terrific support and energy tough, it means more thank you can begin to imagine.

Luv  Cat

Cat - you surely do have a ton on your plate to deal with, but in your fashion - you will indeed deal with it.

Wishing you nothing but good outcomes for your kids and for you too.

Like some of the others have said - don't forget to take care of you!!!!

Hugs
Carol

Good Lord,

As I reread my posts and see how many spelling errors and mistakes there are I was astonished.  I mean, I knew I was suffering unadulterated physical, mental and emotional exhaustion, but damn, I didn't think it was THAT bad.

I got a really good night's sleep last night, and am getting ready to start the battle with phone calls and appt's again.

I just didn't realize I was THAT exhausted - wow my spelling was utterly atrocious!!

I am doing my best to keep myself well so I can be sure to help Alex.

My family here has been an absolute GODSEND!!   You truly have worked miracles once again :)

Luv ya all

Cat
