I was chronic for almost 2 years. I would have considered it then.

Actually, I believe ZTD claimed to have a stimulator placed on his trigeminal nerve rather than his occipital nerve.  

Still, until they come up with one that has a much better success rate across a large patient population, surgery is definitely a last ditch effort for most people.
