Title: HELP ME STOP BIDDING!
Post by Melissa on Mar 7th, 2007, 6:34pm
ARGHHHHH!!!  I have lost my mind!  Ever since reading about the error in casting the new Washington dollars, I've been going nuts on eBay.  Somebody stop me!! :P

Put the mouse down and walk away from the puter.

Nevermind.  After losing 4 of the auctions, the intervention isn't necessary.  Plus, I got a really dirty look from hubby after I told him what I was doing. :-[

Hey Jeff,  :P

Yes, and not only a compulsive eBay shopper, but a fanatic seller too.  I have 16 auctions going right now. ;;D

I love eBay! :D

As long as you break even at the end of the day, there's no problem.

A very wise man once told me, "If you're buyin' more than you're sellin', you're losin'." Applies to so many facets of life.

Ebay is evil, Mel.

Glad you got sniped.  8)

It would be nice if these coins will work in vending machines.....maybe they will. I'll use the things if I can buy Doritos and Pepsi with them.

Wrokk, I needed a VCR and they cost more in the store than it did on eBay.  Let me remind you, I have a 3 year old red headed flaming ball of terror at home who likes to force put in the tapes to watch his movies. :P

You bought a sink?  What was shipping on that??? ;;D

 Hi Mel,
It'll be okay.E-bay addiction is bad on finances but there are so many addiction that are WAY WORSE
and costlier.I never bought anything personally off
E-bay.Window shop there (is it really called window shopping?)Billy bought a lot off E-bay he got really great deals but he did his homework to make sure they were
great deals.
Off subject kinda but oh well...I went to sign up for pay-pal.Went through the process but it kept saying my
city and Zip code weren't compatibal with what was in their data base.I called their customer service and finally got a repersentative. She was very friendly ,tried to help.We entered it in so many different ways and still no go.She puts me on hold to have me talk to someone else. ::)  15 minutes of their 'please hold your call is important to us and will be answered asap" yeah...finally
I hung up,so much for getting pay-pal.and yes I really do know my address  :P

I bought somthing off ebay from someone in australia i paid $162 so it's done and bought with right, no, they want me to send $15 extra because shipping is $15 extra for USA ok sure but they're ebay account can't be sent money through paypal. So they want me to go through western union it's $20 to send the $15 [smiley=huh.gif] It's two months later and it's getting a little  :o . i think I'm cured of Ebay.

I was always told never to pay for an auction through Western Union, as I wouldn't be protected against fraud sellers. :-/  Did you file a report for the unreceived item with eBay?

Mel, STOP with buying the dollar coins! Nobody, not even the US Mint knows how many are out there. It is probably in the thousands. If you spend $15 (or up to $50) plus $15 for shipping you will get a coin that in one year will be worth, at best, $2.

The vanity/sink thingy?  I think $200 for shipping.

Bought most of my house stuff under my father-in-laws ID.  Most of the electrical infrastructure in my house is from eBay.

On a side note, I am getting ready to order some furniture for the two new suites.

I do not want anything heirloom quality.  One set is for Katie's new area, the other for a guest area.

Considering these beds (2 of them in Queen) and nightstands (4 of them).
Like them?
wow... nasty link... let me try to post a pic...
forget it... mile long link...
At jcpenney.com... the Uptown Bedroom

No dressers and such... both areas have walk-ins where all such stuff will be.

Mel, What kind of errors are on the coin?

My wife got 2 of these back in change, although these may have no errors...She gave me one of them to look at... I see George, and Ms Liberty. George didn't slip around the coin and get Liberty did he?

guess so :-/

We really won't have any clue as to what it's really worth until a few years have gone by.  I'm amazed to see the people who actually DO pay that much! ::)

Mel,

Please give me the link to e-bay anonymous!  I'm going to force my hubby to sign up!  There are at least 5 e-bay/paypal purchases on our credit card statement every freaking month!  I think he's addicted!

No one is addicted to Ebay like my ex - I don't think a day goes by without him buying something. Its got to the point where he looks there first for everything. I swear his next wife'll be a "buy it now"  ::)

I took a look and my dollar coin is worth a buck and a buck ain't worth much, as you well know these days....

Thanks...
