I feel right now like everything is falling into place, like there's a bright, beautiful horizon that is coming toward ME instead of me going toward IT.

There are so many RIGHT things in our lives that we disregard because we're too focused on either money, depression (thanks Pappy) or going "up" in the world. It'll be something that gives us bursts of joy, but due to loss of focus, it gets left behind until we crash and burn and, if we're lucky, we rediscover it again.

Just had to get that out! ;;D

It's more of a case of ignorance and misplaced focus more than anything. The word "prioritize" seems so cliche, but it really is the core of being happy. 8)

Priorities and focus. The keys to a happy and productive life.

It's amazing how it seems we're never happy until we focus on something or somebody outside ourselves. It's almost like we're wired that way. We end up being the most miserable when we're focused on our own happiness, but we're the most happy when we either pursue something greater than ourselves or focus on making others happy.

Anyhoo, spring is just around the corner, and therein lies enough of a reason for optimism at this point. Glad you're feeling good, Mel. Me too.

Nice Cardinal pic. We are swarmed with them.

I plan to post pics of the resident male. He has taken up living on one corner of my deck, and has been attacking the same 2 windows for about 3 weeks now.
All day long... every 15 seconds... tap tap tap.
Those 2 windows have 1000 marks on them, and his deck corner is covered in his bird shit.
When you go outside he will jump into the tree and yell at you, then go back to his corner of the deck within 30 seconds of your departure.

I think it is wicked cool.

We have a dove with a broken wing frequenting our bird feeder. She gets around pretty well, running into the creek brush if we get near.

Nice you're feeding them Melly, looks like they will need it for awhile still. No cardinals here yet and robins should be making a show pretty soon. Nothing like a cardinal whistling and robin songs to wake up to in the sunny mornings. :) :-*

What a lovely bird. It's the little things that really make me smile too. Like.....walking out of a store yesterday and smelling Daphne the finding the huge bush and bringing one small fragrant flower in the car with me.

;;D ;;D Great way to think there Mel!! I know just what you mean about losing the ability to focus, I have been there for a couple of years now and your post has made me realized the way I have managed to get through it so far is by backing up and looking at all the good things that have happened in spite of my depression and pain, Things I could easily have missed if I let the dark thoughts take control beyond the influence I have allowed to cloud my horizons. You're 100% correct. Whenevr I go through months of crap --Things turn on a dime and I try to slow my pace to enjoy it !
