Title: taking a trip Post by Gena on Mar 7th, 2007, 7:55am So I am going to San Diego on the 17th. [smiley=laugh.gif] I get to be warm for a week. I was wondering what do I do for 02 you can't take it on a plane. I know some of you guys traval all the time. |

Title: Re: taking a trip Post by Brewcrew on Mar 7th, 2007, 8:05am Inform the airline that you require 100% O2 at a high flow rate as needed. It will help to have your doc write that on a prescription pad and sign it. Take it with you (I laminated mine). Call them well ahead of time and I think they should be able to accomodate you, whether it be with a tank on board or access to the "house" O2 that the crew would use. |

Title: Re: taking a trip Post by marlinsfan on Mar 7th, 2007, 8:19am Find an O2 supplier in San Diego and call them ahead of time. Have them deliver a tank to your hotel, bring your reg and mask. You may need to fax them a copy of your prescription. As for the plane, stay awake, drink lot's of coffee, and your Plan B abortive (mine is imitrex). I'm sure someone from San Diego will chime in with the name and number of their O2 place. Have a great trip!! |

Title: Re: taking a trip Post by JeffB on Mar 7th, 2007, 2:00pm Get a hold of Guiseppe. He's a local and one of the most helpful guys you'd ever meet. He's usually on the meds or ha specific boards. I think thats how the guy spells his name?? |

Title: Re: taking a trip Post by Gena on Mar 7th, 2007, 4:08pm I am Insurance Free ;;D as of right now. I do still have a script for 02, I wonder how much a tank will cost out right. It can't be that bad. I wonder if I call my 02 dealer if they have a partner in the San Diego area. |

Title: Re: taking a trip Post by JeffB on Mar 7th, 2007, 4:17pm Looks like Guiseppi (Joe) is on his way to Mexico (to find more illegals to bring across no doubt), he'll be back next week. Might be worth it to see if he can help if you need it. BTW, why in the world would anyone want to go to San Diego?? It's warm and sunny, the food is really good and the beers are really cold. ;;D |

Title: Re: taking a trip Post by ClusterChuck on Mar 7th, 2007, 4:18pm Take me with you, and I will show you the ropes ... (think she would fall for that line of shit? ) ANYHOW ... I have been hit several times on flights ... and I am not suppose to use trex ... and I had not informed anyone beforehand about my possible need of O2 ... BUT, the flight attendants were VERY helpful, with supplying me with their in-flight tank of O2 ... It only goes to 8 lpm, though, but it was enough to knock out the hit ... the trick is to inhale, hold it till the bag refills, then exhale, and take the next one ... it worked for me ... Good luck!!! Now about me joining you for the trip ... Chuck |
