Title: Svenn, your snow has NUTHIN' on this!
Post by Brewcrew on Mar 4th, 2007, 12:18pm
Just outside the Brewcrew household back door, a terrible accident on the snow-covered highway. Ambulances, police, fire and rescue, even the National Guard have been called out. 40-foot snowbanks made the rescue effort extremely dangerous.

Mosaicwench was able to smuggle these shots from the scene before all witnesses were taken into custody:

Alright...it's official!!!

Bill has hit the stage of total stir crazy cabin fever due to the Northern winters.

I've seen this before, and it's quite common around these parts.

I recommend a couple shots of "snowshoe" , some brats with kraut and onion and mustard, then a dark Bock beer or 12 at the local corner Mom and Pop Tavern so they can recount the tales of much worse winters were back when they young.

You'll leave half tanked, and too busy focusing on the hangover to worry about the weather. [smiley=laugh.gif]

It is absolutely true, Pegg. The older I get, the earlier those thoughts and feelings of "alright, I've had enough of this crap" start up. This year they happened on Dec. 2nd.

Man, those brats with kraut and onions are makin' my mouth water. Can't drink right now, but a grilled brat would do my soul a world o' good.

I'm not having brats, but a windy blistery Wisconsin winter day so I am making a wonderful hearty beef and wild rice soup, with a couple loaves of fresh bread for supper today...I'll freeze some for ya!   [smiley=laugh.gif]

I've used my back porch, my garage, and my car as an annex to the freezer/frig during the holidays and at other times during the winter . . .

When brew and his buddies used to make homebrew they would quick-cool the batch by placing the pot into a snowbank.  I was the only person who had (what looked like) crop circles in the yard in January!

We're a hardy bunch!

Yes, she is a saint, but I'm afraid it's homemade chicken chop suey for dinner tonight. Should be ready in about 4 hours - is there a Concorde to Milwaukee leaving soon?

I could drop some in an envelope for you (like I used to tell my mum to do when she told me to clean my plate because children were starving in China . . . )
::)

Summer sounds nice.  Hell, I'd settle for a sunny spring day.

Imagine kicking back, lighting up a little fire in the fire pit, smoking a cigar and just chillin like a villain.
I'd even entertain the idea of consuming up to 1 alcoholic beverage.

Hey, $$$$MAN!

Don't you have a bday coming up?? Since the sun is shining in Portland, would ya like a sunshine day and up to one(1) alcoholic beverage of your choice?? I'll be out of town  Thurs-Tues, but we need some sun as soon as I get back! Get out your daytimer, and be ready, got it?

Brew, I have to agree, you are nucking  futz! In a good way, of course :-/..........
Snow in Portland, OR is an almost-annual affair. We consider it an event, actually! Noone can drive in it, actually, noone can THINK in it. Everyone stays home and either sits and watches it, or counts the moments till it finally goes away. We roast a turkey, and dare each other to walk across the street to get the mail :-/ The trip can be treacherous!!!
I thhink next snow, I will get out Gil's prized matchbox corvette collection and mock up some auto tragedy............
uh, then, I will print the Love thread for him, JUST in case the Matchbox debacle causes him to forget. I would hate to waste 34 yrs on a snowstorm...........'
