Title: Question on antivirus software... Post by Melissa on Feb 23rd, 2007, 2:28pm I'm looking to purchase some antivirus software and was wondering what ya'll would recommend? I found Panda Antivirus 2007 and was wondering if it was good or not? After trying for hours to burn a CD to transfer my files and settings and then losing pictures I took, I'm finally set with my new puter except for the anti-v. I would download it from AVG, but my dial up is so painfully slow that I'd rather just buy one instead and install it that way. Thanks for any help! |

Title: Re: Question on antivirus software... Post by Lobster on Feb 23rd, 2007, 2:34pm Go to www.antivir.com Download it for free. Just let your dialup pull it down overnight. Once a day you will get a single popup message when it updates... that is it. Many anti-virus products are bloated pieces of crap that really drag your system down. Antivir is lightweight and highly rated, and best of all, free. |

Title: Re: Question on antivirus software... Post by Mattrf on Feb 23rd, 2007, 3:12pm I have always like Symantec antivirus the best. If you think you have a virus you can go to Panda’s free on-line scan also Trendmicro.com has one and one I just found yesterday that you can download to run a quick clean from McAfee called Stinger and it worked really well and was fast http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ Hope this helps.
