Title: Brewcrew and Liz Post by Redd715 on Feb 23rd, 2007, 10:21am I'm watching the weather forecasts closely, as they seem to change hour by hour. At this point, I'm still hoping to make it down by mid to late afternoon on Sat. If it ends up I can't make it...please let me know how I can make a contribution please? |

Title: Re: Brewcrew and Liz Post by Brewcrew on Feb 23rd, 2007, 10:33am Pegg - I will understand completely if you opt out of this storm. In fact, I'm wondering how many people might also opt to stay home, and what that might do to the participation in the raffles and silent auctions. Our guitarist, who is running this whole thing, just told us that he's got a large contingent of HD employees who are coming on the heels of the joyous announcement of the strike settlement, and they will be ready to par-tay. I don't know that they'll be riding their 2-wheelers, however. If it turns out you can't make it, I'll PM you with a name and address if you want to send a little something. Praying for the weather gods to be wrong, Bill |

Title: Re: Brewcrew and Liz Post by Redd715 on Feb 23rd, 2007, 10:41am Some reports are calling for 8-12 inches, some for 5-8. Some say starting tonight, some state waiting until Saturday night into very heavy during the day on Sunday... Who knows what Mother Nature has in store. |

Title: Re: Brewcrew and Liz Post by Karla on Feb 23rd, 2007, 5:48pm We are suppose to get 1 inch tonight in Madison. 1 inch Sat. am and afternoon. 10 inches Sat. night. Please be careful out there on the roads all of you Wisconsinites. |

Title: Re: Brewcrew and Liz Post by Redd715 on Feb 23rd, 2007, 6:21pm For the central region, it's calling for the worst part of it during the afternoon and evening Sunday. Getting down there wouldn't be the problem, but getting home in one piece might be another story. I've got to make the judgement call, and bow out on the trip down there this weekend. I'm bummed! |

Title: Re: Brewcrew and Liz Post by tanner on Feb 23rd, 2007, 6:27pm Pegg, I don't mean to butt in but..... A full liquor cabinet, good friends, good music, good cause, and mother nature as an excuse to miss work ::) Damn, I wish it was next weekend when I will be in the "Windy City" :'(.......Tim Edited to add :-[ , should have read your last post before making this one. |

Title: Re: Brewcrew and Liz Post by Redd715 on Feb 23rd, 2007, 6:38pm You know Tim, If it weren't for the fact that we now have no Sales Manager, I have 4 big accounts I need to take care of first thing Monday morning including a full two page double truck ad thats going to have me at 75% of goal the first day of period 5 (period 3 hasn't even started yet) I HAVE to be at the office Monday 8AM sharp. I also have 3 non daily publications that are deadlining Tuesday, an anual publication that I'm in charge of this year that I need to follow up on on Monday as well, I'm booked with no room for a missed day. News paper is tight deadlines always, and clients don't always play well with the rules... [smiley=laugh.gif] |

I did request (and was granted) a desk move so I wasn't in full view of every walk in customer. It was getting quite embarassing to be at my desk dealing with a K4 or 5, head in my hands and wiping my eye and nose raw while they would look on. Now I'm down the isle 2 desks with a border wall that hides me from the eyes of the public. It's better than nothing. |

Title: Re: Brewcrew and Liz Post by Mosaicwench on Feb 23rd, 2007, 8:34pm So sorry to hear it Redd. . . wouldn't ya know we barely have any snow left from last weeks thaw and now this . . . . (although I STILL don't think we'll get as much as they claim!)::) I'm lucky enough to have 2 four-wheel drive vehicles and the venue is less than 5 miles from home. I'm in charge of photos so I'll post some after the gig. We'll miss you. |

Title: Re: Brewcrew and Liz Post by Redd715 on Feb 23rd, 2007, 8:43pm I have a beater car at this point, but there is a 4 wheel drive SUV for sale at my repair garage. I'm going to look into it and see what kind of deal I can make after my tax refund comes in. I've been wanting something I can hawl things in, gas mileage will be awful, but I get reimbursement for business travel, helps offset the costs. From what I've calulated I'll be able to pay cash for it so I have some barganing room. We'll see......... If I had this now I wouldn't worry about the weather. |

It looks so very upstate New York-ish. and VERY VERY nice I might add. Bill and Pat I am so crossing my fingers that this fund-raiser will be a huge success no matter what the weather is. http://bestsmileys.com/fingers/1.gif Pics or at least a report is required. ;) |

I guess tho they changed there forcast last night at the 6:00 news that I didn't catch. We are suppose to get another 10 inches by tomorrow making record snowfall amounts for this time of year. I have a baby shower I have to go to tomorrow afternoon. I hope the roads are well plowed so I can go. |

Title: Re: Brewcrew and Liz Post by Melissa on Feb 24th, 2007, 9:34am Oh crap. Jesse went yesterday morning with some of his family to the Kohl Center for State Wrestling. He was supposed to drive back tonight but I have a feeling he'll be staying another night at least. :( :( I miss him! *sigh* btw, he has my car and my tires suck. I freaking TOLD him I needed new tires, but he was like, oh they have plenty of tread left on them! Figures, only get new stuff for the cars if HE is driving them and has a problem. ::) |

Title: Re: Brewcrew and Liz Post by Redd715 on Feb 24th, 2007, 9:52am Yep yep, I'm glad I decided to stay home. It's looking pretty nasty for the rest of the weekend all over the state. Not a good idea to travel if it's not required. Two weeks ago we were under extreem freezing conditions, this last week we had temps into the 50+ degees and spring like, and now we have winter storms. Only in Wisconsin..... [smiley=laugh.gif] |

Title: Re: Brewcrew and Liz Post by Mosaicwench on Feb 24th, 2007, 10:34am 8+ inches in my driveway (it's now on the sides of the driveway thanks to TORO). Lots of blowing and lots of band phone calls back and forth . . . . . Wisconsin winters . . . . .why do we live here? |

Title: Re: Brewcrew and Liz Post by Mosaicwench on Feb 25th, 2007, 12:56am The benefit went off without a hitch. It didn't start snowing until around 8pm and there was a decent turnout of folks. Julie (Kendall's mom) said they made their goal and they couldn't thank everyone enough!!! The Empty Suits did a great job of providing live entertainment and our own Clusterhead PattiK's gorgeous watercolor sold at the silent auction for $120 (I know because Brew and I loved it so much we bought it!). Looks like Kendall will get her service dog and we can all be proud of the part we played in making it happen. Thanks to all of you who helped this worthy cause. |

Title: Re: Brewcrew and Liz Post by Brewcrew on Feb 25th, 2007, 10:11am Pics will follow soon - we have one of my son's band mates sleeping in our den (where the main computer with the pics from last night is), and I have to go out and relieve my bride on snowblower duty first. I'm having back spasms today (lift with your legs, idiot), so once the drive and walks are cleared, I'll be throwing another log on the fire and getting intimate with an icepack and a couple of ibuprofen. We had a blast last night, and what made it even more special is that it was the 10th anniversary of Kendall's brother's liver transplant (talk about a long row to hoe). Thanks again to all of you who helped make Kendall's soon to be service dog possible. I will keep you updated on that front as well. |

It was a very productive night all around. Bill |
