....though I'm trying not to get overly excited just yet. I was just offered a couple of tickets to the NASCAR race at Chicagoland this summer! I've never been to a Nextel Cup race before...and I'm REALLY excited!

It is, unfortunately, the weekend of Richmond...however... Mom and I are going to do our best to figure out a way for me to do both! ;;D I couldn't possibly pick between seeing everyone and going to a NASCAR Nextel Cup race!

The other problem is that, I'm not sure if the person offering the tickets is going to actually be able to get them... I've gotten my hopes up for things in the past, and sometimes they haven't come through, so I don't want to get too excited just yet.

(But I sure can't wait to inhale that wonderful smell of their racing gas...makes you feel like you're home!)

Just really excited and had to tell someone!! ;;D

I was there last year Teresa. That place rocks! The only bad thing was the lack of bathroom facilities on the grass where everyone parks their vehicles. Was usually about a 2 block walk. Other than that it was a blast!

We'll figure it out....

She invited me to the race, and she understands that I won't be leaving Richmond early and going with her to the race. I did tell her, however, that if she were racing in the NASCAR race, well.... I'd make sure to have the television on in Richmond [smiley=laugh.gif] ::) [smiley=moon.gif]

You can get tix to a race anytime, how often can you be with the people here? just my 2 cents.

JeffB, you make a good point. However, the plan is that I will not miss Richmond and I will get to go to the race as well. It is going to be an amazing weekend! ;;D :o ;;D

Well gal I can tell you this once youve been to a race you will be FAN for life!!!
There is NOTHING on earth that compares to being at the track!!!! ITS KICK ASS!!!!

Not gonna lie Leesa, the best part of the Budweiser Shootout was Jeff Gordon finishing last! I went to the Busch series race in Milwaukee last year, and Mom and I are going to the truck race in Milwaukee this year (and I'm going to the Busch race with my dad). But a Nextel Cup race would mean being able to see the #9 driving right in front of me! That is going to be AMAZING!!! Can't wait!

A few things I have learned over the years:

1. Don't go poking the bear.

2. Don't spit into the wind.

3 Don't tug on Super Mans cape.

And most important

4. Don't get in between a woman and her Nascar! ;)

Yes, I was watching that on NASCAR.com I was quite excited, though I would have liked him to beat out Gordon, however, he will in the first lap on Sunday!

Why is NASCAR so amazing? :D

You will have a blast. The race is fun. My husband likes the smell of tires burning rubber at the race. We was able to go to the suits once, I loved it cause it was warm in there and I could see everything. He didn't like it cause he couldn't smell the tires. Do they make tire perfume? Thats one I need to look into. ;-)

You will have so much fun at both the Nascar race and Richmond! It will be a wild week end for you!

Oh Teresa......if you can do both great.
You love racing.....I want you to see the race......they are fantastic!!!! The smell of fuel, the sound of the motors...WOW!!!

Of course I'm selfish so I want to see you too....You and Mom will figure it out I bet...
