Why?  Why of WHY is he still in office, AND now getting access to homeland security data... imagine the security risk that HE is... just how many people have the goods on him (other than the FBI, of course)... nothing to see here folks.

Yes, I forgot that we had to be PC.  There was a day when that wasn't a requirement here...  That was actually a good thing, but as the population of members here grows, everyone has to tone down their voice so as not to offend until it's all the same drivel you read everywhere else.  Sad, really.  Not that it's a cool thing to offend people, but sad that the raw feelings are muffled, and this place is all about raw feelings, isn't it?

Yeah Fu, there are a lot of raw feelings. My response was based on being in a pretty good mood today, inspite of having to face the reality that it looks my overdue cycle has apparently started this week. Sometimes I just like to say that some of the unnecessary vitriol deserves the occasional tweak in the nose. I don't consider myself to be PC. Couldn't give a shit about Nancy or Jefferson. Just sometimes wake up and say to myself, "that doesn't seem like we need to go that far and say such nasty shit about anybody". How's that for raw?

You were right anyway... I didn't like the look of it when i kept seeing "Please Die" on my screen.  It's just not good karma to wish that on anybody.   ;)

For sure, that's crappy news on the bone scan.  I wish I knew what to say.

I *am* in a better mood now though.  I am not watching the news any more.  I think the only solution is to join the herd... I will obediently stick my head in the sand so I don't pollute the waters with my vitriol and anger.  Maybe I'll even vote democrat just to drive a stake in any desire I may have left to voice an opinion.

Democrats are back to clean up from the corrupt/partisan Republicans that we elected to clean up from corrupt/partisan Democrats.  Eventually new Republican leadership will be chosen to clean up from the new corrupt/partisan Democrats.  How many times has/will this circle-jerk be repeated?  Is it any wonder that elected representatives at all levels of government no longer care what “The People” think?        
       
Politics has become a game ruled by those accumulating the most wealth and power.  “The People” keep playing along like mindless sheep while creative corruption and power brokering destroys the foundation of this country.
 
It’s legal for special interests to stuff party and candidate re-election coffers with (wink, wink) contributions.  Unlimited access to public officials combined with laughable lobbyist reporting laws permits special interests to “petition government” with vast undocumented resources.  A little Insider Trading information, meaningless government positions, private jobs for supporters and family members, lucrative contracts for select businesses, family vacations disguised as “fact finding” tours, etc., etc., etc.  Guaranteed wealth and power flowing freely under the table to eventually come out of taxpayer pockets.  It goes along nicely until someone gets too greedy, too sloppy, or crosses someone with more power.                              

Representative claim these transactions do not influence legislative decisions and say they couldn’t pass legislation without them???  Is it mass ignorance or apathy?  Are “The People” just giving up or really this gullible and gutless?  Here’s my recommendation - don’t stop at just posting your frustrations on the board.  

Regardless of your party affiliation, remind Pelosi and all of your representatives who they work for, insist on integrity and demand that pandering to special interests be stopped.  Communicate frequently with your representatives to let them know what you expect over the next few years and what you believe is important to our future.  Convince everyone that you know to start doing the same.  Let them know that we are watching and holding them accountable.  

The phone numbers, email and mailing addresses of your representatives are readily accessible online – start using them to “petition government”.  Live up to this “post vote” obligation or stop complaining about the results of our own ignorance and apathy.

Actually, nothing has changed other than the information. 100 years ago there wasn't a million people poking around keeping such close track of these servants of the people.

It's like the mistaken idea that crime is at its worst. Not true, reporting is better and crime is what sells Viagra. Crime rates are lower today than in 1970. When it comes to child abuse and wife beating, things are much better, not worse. It's just that we think differently and report that too. Now you can get in serious trouble for beating your wife and family....years ago, when dad came home after spending his salary at the local dive and beat up the wife, it was pretty much ignored. No one liked to admit such things. Same goes for sex with children.

And we're back.
