Title: My Son Has A New Brother Post by BB on Feb 14th, 2007, 8:28pm Some of you may remember that my 10 years old Edwyn wish for Christmas was that I would help him sponsor a child through World Vision. We are now very proud to introduce his newly "adopted" brother: Jeewan Chaudhary :) Jeewan is a 9 years old boy living in Nepal. His family is very poor and he was not able to go to school but has had to work helping his father to gather food for the whole family since the age of 5. With Edwyns sponsoring he will be enrolled in a special program by World Vision called Kailali Project and will be able to go to school :) . His family will be assisted with fund to start farming work :) . http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b149/bargainbazzar/LastScan.jpg Cheers Annette |

Title: Re: My Son Has A New Brother Post by BB on Feb 15th, 2007, 1:07am Thanks everyone for your kind words :) Edwyn is taking out $1 each day from his lunch money for Jeewan. The cost for sponsoring is $39 per month. So I give him $9 each month to make up the short fall. Edwyn says that having $1 less for lunch means that he wont be able to get the chips, but he is amazed that that $1 can feed Jeewan, pay for his schooling and help his family too. I am glad he is learning the value of money and how a little sacrifice can mean so much to another little boy. Annette |
