Title: Severe Weather advisory! Post by taraann on Feb 14th, 2007, 2:13am The snow just began not too long ago. We are looking at 18-30 inches of the white crap! With the wind and all they are saying whiteout conditions. And of course power outages are possible too. Yuck, hope everyone around all this bad weather are staying home and safe. Cuddle up warm with your hunny bunny to stay warm today and tomorrow! |

Title: Re: Severe Weather advisory! Post by cynjeep89 on Feb 14th, 2007, 6:34am The storm arrived here yesterday morning. Started with snow and then changed over to sleet/freezing rain last night with more to come today. Back yard looks like a skating rink and my back door is frozen shut. To anyone north of Delaware, please be careful. It's dangerous out there. Unfortunately no snow day here. Working from home is great but on days like this, I can't call off from work...bummer. Stay safe. |

Title: Re: Severe Weather advisory! Post by burnt-toast on Feb 14th, 2007, 7:19am Once I chop through the ice on the surface - I'll deal with the snow underneath it. What a mess - snaped the sleve connecting the snow blower to the tractor's PTO. Spent most of the day yesterday making a new sleve, today I'll hopefully get the road cleared. Tom |

Title: Re: Severe Weather advisory! Post by purpleydog on Feb 14th, 2007, 9:19pm I spent a couple hours shoveling out my driveway this morning. The snow was as high as the bumper on my 4x4 truck. Got it halfway done, decided to try to plow through the city snowplow leavings in front of my driveway, and got stuck. That snow was up to the damn bumper on my truck! Took me an hour to get it cleared, so I could get out. Luckily, yesterday, when this storm was in Illinois, the plant manager shut down the plant I'm working out of. We had blizzard conditions. Man, I hate shoveling snow. Anyone got a hot tub they want to sell? Just a little stiff here... [smiley=ugh.gif] |

Title: Re: Severe Weather advisory! Post by Kevin_M on Feb 14th, 2007, 10:27pm We only got about eight inches with high winds and drifts but I know Charlie got double that, on top of what was still lying around. I just hope he's not without power or trying to kick start that old furnace. Don't make us have to start a political thread Charlie. |

Title: Re: Severe Weather advisory! Post by drivin_blind on Feb 15th, 2007, 9:27am I can't believe how lucky we've been here in Mid-Michigan. All winter the storms have either gone north or south of us. Northern Michigan is buried, Detroit got hammered. We ended up with 1/2 inch. Blew like Billy Hell though. -1 this am. My furnace needs a breather! Scared to see my fuel bill this month! Dick |

Title: Re: Severe Weather advisory! Post by taraann on Feb 15th, 2007, 10:07am Looks about 18 inches here and the snow has stopped. Now we are dealing with ~20 MPH winds and a well below zero windchill. I'll post some lovely bitterly cold pics after I get the kids off to school. Just a 2hr delay today, I totally expected them to have no school! |
