Title: Our New House Is Haunted ! Post by BB on Feb 11th, 2007, 6:41pm I groggily woke up last night to the sound of unfamiliar heavy breathing. At first I thought Daniel must have got a blocked nose or something so I held my breath so that I could hear more clearly. However, this actually made me panic because then I realised that there were TWO lots of breathing sounds ! :o ! One was distincly Daniels and it came from his side of the bed. The other one was much heavier and it came from near the bedroom door! I must be dreaming! I thought to myself. I must have been hearing things. So I opened my eyes and looked around the room to make sure that I was awake. Yes I was awake alright. Everything in the room looked normal albeit shadowing with the moonlight filtering through the blinds. But OMG, I could still hear the heavy breathing! By now I was frozen with fear! I tried to reach Daniel but at the same time I didnt want to make any noise. I just didnt want to alert whatever was doing the heavy breathing to become aware that I had woken up. Unfortunately Daniel had his back towards me and he was sleeping so soundly that despite me desperately scratching with my nails he didnt budge! I summoned my courage and tried to look towards the bedroom door, while my heart was pounding like mad. What I saw terrified me even more. The door was half open yet I was sure I had shut it close prior to getting into bed. It was too dark there to see clearly but I was certain that I could see a dark shadow at the door. What was worse was that it seemed to move with the breathing! Well! That was it! I closed my eyes tight and frantically planned my next move. It wasnt an intruder as the shadow was too round and close to the floor to be a human being. It couldnt be any of the kids, they dont wake up in the night and they never enter our bedroom without knocking and calling, plus they dont breathe like that! So what the hell was at the door of our bedroom ? I was desperaly trying to be logical and reasonable but was failing miserably. Finally I decided that I would suddenly sit up right and switch on the bedside light and faced the "ghost". Holding my breath and trying to calm my pounding heart, I threw open the doona, sat bolt up right and reached for the lamp. At the same time, the shadow gave a heave, and went flying towards me .... Dont think I had screamed quite that loud for a looong time .... |

Have you got a piccy ? :) Last night was the first time Happy got upstairs in the night, she normally sleeps in the laundry, dont know what got into her ! I have heard steps from the living room at a time when my parents were sound asleep at their bed room and we had no quests over. That was scary! And I heard on several occasions odd sounds from the roof - my folks thought that they were just my imagination until dad woke up in the middle of one night and heard the very same ones. Now we think that it's mice or just normal sounds a 27-year-old house makes.) |
