Title: It's "All In My Head?"
Post by B14CK5H33P on Jan 25th, 2007, 7:09pm
For years, my GP and neuro(s) couldn't find the cause for the constant ache at the base of my skull in the back of my head. It never goes away. Some days it is light, some days very heavy. They couldn't find the cause, and just called it daily persistent headache.

That's cause they weren't looking in the right spot.

I started seeing a wonderful Chiro a month ago. She cracks my neck and back 3 times a week, and is trying to fix a severe misalignment in my neck. Come to find out - THIS is what has been causing the shit in the back of my head.
For those who say a chiro will 'cure' clusters... that just isn't so. Sorry, but it is not a 'bone' problem, rather a vascular one. HOWEVER, besides 2 minor CH's, this has been a mild week. It was this time last year I went into remission from chronic, and am hoping the same thing happens this year since the beast seems to be slacking - but not holding my breath!

I know stress brings about CH, and this week I have come close to hitching a ride to crazyville (I would have absolutely no problems finding people to drive me there!)

I found out this week, we may have some drastic changes at Satellite11.com - and I don't like it one iota! I have a conference call with the guys tonight on Skype to discuss the networks future, and if we don't get the proper licensing - we will be going 'all indie' which means... no more playing ANYTHING carried by the RIAA, only unsigned and independent bands. If that happens, I will be cutting my show from the 'insane' 12 hour sundays down to 4 hours. I do enough work throughout the week to put together the show with music I know; I will not bash my brains in trying to find enough GOOD indie stuff to fill a 12 hour show and keep it fresh.

So, we are going to toss around ideas tonight on 'where to go from here' and my only solution is to get some biggie local acts for a benefit show to raise the funds for the licensing and keep us on the track we're on. Fragile Porcelain Mice is a fairly big band here in the midwest with several albums out - and their drummer is our station head. I have many ideas - but WILL NOT be responsible for putting it all together. Last time I did a benefit show was for OUCH, and it failed miserably.  :-/  However, I am working with real pro's on this, and I am certain we can pull it off. I even thought of a name for the benefit: "Save The Wails"  get it? Wails instead of whales. Aren't I cree ate iv?[smiley=headbanger.gif]

I did manage to find one less thing to stress about. Zombie was able to reach from his leash Monday and ripped out my speaker cables and shredded them. So I fixed his little ass and got him a kennel! He'll fight me tooth and nail getting into the cage, but once he is in he calms down and is fine. I am hoping this will help him with his 'puppy rage!'

Crossing my fingers that the beast will leave me alone for a few months again, but like I said, not holding my breath. The CH beast carries more surprise and fear than 'The Spanish Inquisition'. NO ONE EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!!!  ;;D

Regardless what is decided tonight, Soylent Radio will go on as scheduled this sunday, and the 10th hour tribute is Nine Inch Nails (11pm eastern). Also, Ian suggested that I have sex on the air live to attract listeners. Luckily, he didn't 'double dog dare me' or I'd be giving Howard Stern a run for his money this Sunday.  [smiley=JAW_DROP.gif]

Dangerous, unpredictable and making allota noise,
Carl "Mack" D

Had an ornery dog that hated the kennel at first... but later that became his fav spot.   With the door to the kennel open he would go into it on his own to lay down and have some quiet time (with 2 kids that were toddlers at the time he needed it)

Woohoo praying I get to hog the pc for the nin tribute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FUCK ME!!!

I almost went into it, but I won't here.

Let's just say I am paying some fucking heavy dues to try and make our network survive and grow, and had to be 'the stand up guy' instead of just the idea vioce in the crowd, and committed myself to more than I just swallowed...]

Eyes bigger than belly,
Carl D

PS - I fight for anything I truly believe in.

.. and that was a heavy stone to swallow!  :o

ok, so I went into it a little more than I expected.

I'm  also swimming in a new pond.

Although I haven't seen a chiro for several years he did the trick when I had some really wretched lower back pain. Glad you're at least getting some relief.

I like the idea of the benefit to maintain the licensing and playing the great music we all know and love. But as part of the benefit promotion I would place an emphasis on promoting the unknowns as well. I know it sounds like a lot more work. ... but on the up side the new talent gets a shot.

Keep up the commitment and doing whatever it takes to hold on to your beliefs, it's only a win win situation.

I had to acquaint Oscar to a cage. I would only give him his treats in the cage. While saying "UP" at first I'd lure him in with the treat and leave the door open. So he wouldn't associate it with a form of punishment. I would lavish him with praise and treats when he was in there even if for  a few moments.

Now I don't have a problem with him going in. He goes in on his own when he feels like it at times. When commanded, he doesn't put up a fuss. It will help if you put some of Zombies favorite toys in there if you're going to leave him for a "while". I try to never leave Oscar in there for more than 3 hours without a bathroom break.

Have you ever had a CH during the show? It would sound like sex... almost, with all the banging, moaning and "O God"ing, but infinitely less fun!

I'll be tuning in for the "Nails"!

with warm regards,
Tony

Actually, this past Sunday is the only show I haven't been hit during.

If you hear a bunch of songs in a row with no interuption starting with Slipknot "Duality" - that usually means I am getting hit and have stepped away from the puter. Kind of a 'network' signal to those in the know.

I'm pretty calm now, but can't sleep. This is one of my insomnia problems is that my brain won't shut off. I always have at the least ten things on my mind, and days like these can surmount the body count so to speak.

Peace,
Carl D

Carl,

I told my boyfriend's best friend about your show on Wednesday. We were talking about Wolfmother... ;)

Anyways, I hope that everything goes well with the show! And that the beast will stay away, too.

It's always good to have guts to fight for the things you treasure the most!

Hugs,
Sanna
