Title: What's wrong with me? Post by sandie99 on Jan 17th, 2007, 4:51am This week I have felt odd and I'd appreciate your help figuring out what this is. On Monday afternoon I felt sleepy. Not tired, but extremely sleepy. It was weird, because I had had a good night sleep on the night before. But still, at 4.45 pm I thought, what a heck, I'll take a nap. I woke up at 8.15pm. Not like me to fall asleep like that. I went to bed at 11pm and woke up at 9am. My throat was sore, my head was buzzing and I felt horrible. So, went back to sleep and woke up at 10.24am. I got up, but I knew that I didn't feel like me. I was still tired and my head was aching. I had fruits for breakfast, took a painkiller and went back to sleep. When I woke up at 1.24pm I felt bit better. Not normal me, but better. I checked, no fever, although my normal temperature is slightly lower. This morning my throat was fine, but my head is still kind of aching, it is akward. No fever, no cough, just plain feeling bad. No stomach ache, no feeling weak, no throwing up (nor feeling that I'm going to). I have no idea what the hell is going on, I just don't like it. The last time I had ch was on Friday and it was a mild one. Since then I've had two regular HAs and then this oddness. I wish my body would decide if it wants to be sick nor not, so I could do something about this. Now my head is feeling weird, I feel like I need to sleep and I can't do what I'm supposed to do (dissertation and job applications). Help! Best wishes & PF days, Sanna |

Title: Re: What's wrong with me? Post by B14CK5H33P on Jan 17th, 2007, 4:58am Sounds like typical symptoms of the aftermath of an alien abduction. Do you remember seeing any little green men in silver speedos? ;) Sorry you're not quite feeling yourself. I've been bit by the same bug as of late, and got more sleep in one week than I did all of last year. I hope the CH's get further and further... like years apart, and Hope you start feeling more yourself very soon, and don't start having repressed memories surface of being aboard the Garzaltulica S9 Spacecraft. ;;D Hugs, Carl |

Title: Re: What's wrong with me? Post by Cathi04 on Jan 17th, 2007, 8:18am Hmm, Sanna, sounds like you have that dreaded disease known as General Malaise. It is nothing like General Beast(and with luck, that General will continue at bay) Here are the symptoms as I know them, and the cure: General discomfort Fatigue Diminished appetite Mildly upset stomach If that sounds like what you've got, I suggest you do this: Grab a blanket Get a good book Drink plenty of juices Aspirin or acetaminaphin for fever Apply rest liberally You should be fine as wine in 2-3 days Of course, well-wishes from your friends help too! Fell better really soon, Sanna! Cathi |

Title: Re: What's wrong with me? Post by pubgirl on Jan 17th, 2007, 8:30am Sanna I think I may know this feeling well! It is a known virus and is called "I am generally feeling January shitty, I have SAD because my hypothalamus is screwy, my immune system is buggered and my head hurts and I wish it would turn into real flu' so I have to go to bed and stay there instead of coping when I feel crap". A holiday in the sun is the best cure, but failing this I think Cathi is right! Wendy |

Title: Re: What's wrong with me? Post by Margi on Jan 17th, 2007, 10:05am Hi Sanna, sorry to hear you're feeling punky. Um, I almost hate to mention this but... I had exactly your same symptoms: incredible tiredness, icky feeling all over, daily low grade headache but nothing really specific. I thought it was a mild case of flu, no tummy upset at all. Just unbelievably sleepy. Nine months later my daughter was born. I don't mean to alarm you but, any chance it could be the same for you? |

Title: Re: What's wrong with me? Post by sandie99 on Jan 18th, 2007, 8:03am Ok, Sanna is back. I begun feeling better last night and now I'm fine. :) I found out that I'm not the only one going through this odd mild flu thing; my flatmate had had it bit ealier, my friends two other friends have the same and so on. Thank you all for your posts. :) Sanna |

Title: Re: What's wrong with me? Post by Shaz on Jan 18th, 2007, 8:25am Hi Sanna Have not been able to get on line for two days so missed the beginning of your post when you were poorly. Glad you are feeling better now. I think sometime your body just wants you to slow things down, especially if you have been overdoing it. Give in to those feelings, I am sure it saves being really poorly further down the line. lot of love Shaz :-* |

Title: Re: What's wrong with me? Post by sandie99 on Jan 18th, 2007, 1:52pm Shaz, I think that you're right. I've taken this also as a wake up call and listen to my body more. I'm going to start practicing yoga and meditations again; I've been planning to do that for a such a long time. Now when I think of it, no wonder I was tired: I had to take red bulls and other caffeine products because of ch and they kept me up. I had to catch up with sleep sometime! ;;D Mike, thanks for being there now. :) Hugs & PF time for all, Sanna |

Title: Re: What's wrong with me? Post by tanner on Jan 18th, 2007, 2:08pm Sanna, I am sorry I missed your original post but happy that it seems to have been a passing bug :) People in the "Indoor Tanning" industry ( which I am not anymore, but hence the nick) are Not allowed to make health claims, but I know from experience that lack of UV can and does cause similar symptoms. At any case I'm glad you are back up to your fighting state! Hugz from dreary SC......Tim |
