Title: My Music! Post by Lizzie2 on Jan 16th, 2007, 10:28pm Hi all, Sorry I've been MIA. I read BarbaraD's post and felt guilty - although I've gotta say that life circumstances have kept me quite busy. I've had zillions of doctor appts and today an appt with a dietician because of weight loss/GI issues... The fun never stops. I have officially taken a leave of absence from school because the amount of other issues going on for me are making school impossible right now, but I also am looking to transfer my education from Jefferson over to Penn. Not right now. But someday. So anyway, now that I'm only working 3 days a week (but 12 hour shifts when I work...I'm full time), but without school or any other things in my life, I have more time for music once again and also for exploring this gym membership I've had for about 6 months and haven't used...as well as just trying to recover from all the shit that's been going on. Lots of rest time is good! My apologies for being absent with very periodic stops by! I have figured out how to record my music so that I can play it in itunes. This is exciting to me!! So today I finished a 2-day stint of recording 16 songs! I spent over 4 hours at the piano today! (My days of doing that ended with my Penn State education, so now I'm sore! lol) Last night, I put both my solo piano recitals on my mac server homepage, and today I finished putting my 16 new songs there, too. Of those songs, 2 of them are solo piano renditions of pop songs, and the rest are piano/vocal with a mix of broadway and pop. So here's the website. If you have itunes and are interested in listening to my music (before I become famous...ha! yeah right...) here ya go: http://homepage.mac.com/lizzpiano And because the server automatically alphabetizes them, the two recitals are mixed together, so last night I typed out the titles separately for my blog... The pop songs are self-explanatory at the bottom of the list on the site, but here are the recital programs. If you're going to listen to classical music, you don't want to here a sonate movement here and then a different one there! It's better to have them in order! Junior Recital Pieces: Prelude in C Major (Bach - WTC Book 1) Fugue in C Major (Bach - WTC Book 1) I. Mit Lebhaftigkeit und durchaus mit Empfindung und Ausdruck (Beethoven - from Sonate Op. 90) II. Nicht zu geschwind und sehr singbar vorgetragen (Beethoven - from Sonate Op. 90) Prelude No. 6 in E-flat Major (Rachmaninoff - from Op. 23 Preludes) Prelude No. 7 in c minor (Rachmaninoff - from Op. 23 Preludes) Scaramouche Mvts 1, 2, and 3 (Milhaud) - Duo for 2 pianos I. Pagodes (Debussy - from "Estampes") II. Soiree dans Grenade (Debussy - from "Estampes") III. Jardins sous la pluie (Debussy - from "Estampes") Scherzo No. 2 in b-flat minor (Chopin) Senior Recital Pieces: Prelude and Fugue in b-flat minor (Bach - WTC Book 1) I. Allegro (Beethoven - from Sonate Op. 31 No. 3) II. Scherzo, Allegretto Vivace (Beethoven - from Sonate Op. 31 No. 3) III. Menuetto. Moderato e grazioso (Beethoven - from Sonate Op. 31 No 3) IV. Presto con fuoco (Beethoven - from Sonate Op. 31 No. 3) I. Novelette in C Major (Poulenc Trois Novelettes) II. Novelette in b-flat minor (Poulenc Trois Novelettes) III. Novelette in e minor on a Theme by Manuel de Falla (Poulenc Trois Novelettes) Polonaise No. 2 in e-flat minor Op. 26 No. 2 (Chopin) Gnomenreigen (Dance of the Gnomes - Liszt Etude) Widmung (Dedication) (Song by Schumann/piano transcription by Liszt) Thanks for listening and PF wishes to all!!! Hugz, Carrie/Lizzie2 :) |

Title: Re: My Music! Post by tanner on Jan 17th, 2007, 2:00am Carrie, you now have a new fan/groupie...me! I wish I had known your location a couple years ago when Linda and I came up there frequently. We still have many great friends in Media, Newtown Square, Swarthmore, etc. so maybe we can meet you up that way sometime. Do you remember "American Appliance"? The owner was our past employer and still good friend. How about "Hills Seafood" or " Bobby's Resteraunt"? Both of those owners are ex best friends and now not so fond (owe me money) guys. I will admit that "Hills" at any location is still the best fresh fish purveyor in the area IMHO :( We used to run a golf pro shop in Kimberton and lived on the top floor of "The St. Peters Inn" <<<spooky>>>. A friend still chefs and owns the Inn at Ludwig's Corner. Sorry for all the nostalgia, but it is just one of those kind of mornings for me! I hope that things improve for you very soon and I will be sending good vibes your way ;).. juju and prayers too as I am a full service kind of friend :) Best wishes and thanks for the music!!!...........Tim |

Title: Re: My Music! Post by Lizzie2 on Jan 19th, 2007, 1:10pm Tim - Thank you!!! That's sweet of you to bump the thread at that! I was just going to say that I do recognize a lot of the places you've named. Ludwig's Corner - out in Chester County? I grew up not far from there at all!! My parents live in Downingtown, which is where I'm from...although only since I was 11 as I have lived in 4 other states. Now I live in Narberth, but I am always going back and forth - I am going home tomorrow for the weekend. :) I definitely known Kimberton - have been to the Kimberton Inn many a time. My dad has always really been into golf, and my brother is actually an advertising account manager for GolfWorld Magazine, so we definitely know all the local spots and then some! ;) Next time you guys come up this way, please let me know!! We should definitely arrange a meet and greet or something!! Tony - Also thank you!! Thanks for listening to my songs! I just have so much fun playing and singing, that I felt like sharing it. ;) Hugz, Carrie :) |
