I just gotta do the funeral arrangements (edit, bibliography, fix some footnotes...)

I can only wildly assume this is Alexander the Great but don't recall the exhuberance from his death, and have read some and recognize Darius from something he was rather exceptionally successful and persistent at about war that involves the Middle East but the top of my head has a lot of vacancy for details. Please don't make me rehash this periphreal interest too, I'm eyebrow deep in a far different direction. Share an interest and presently faint memory for those of us much more elderly than yourself. :-*

Actually, I was hesitant to be the only one to ask. But damn, it's been sitting there for awhile, and "WTF" has been eatin' at me. I thought an explanatory request would be needed by now for even inquiring with squinting and furrowed eyebrows so long.

This is just typical of the thoughtlessness of today's generations - pick on the swim-chick, shoot the messenger - without even the slightest concern for Alexander.

He's dead, dammit. Dead, dead, dead! And all you can do assassinate the character of those in mourning without so much as a hint of respect for those so recently passed away.

Disgusts me to the point of thinking I'll resign from having CH so I don't have to read such defamation!

Alexander was a busy man. He liked to fight with everybody, and he always won.

Darius was the king of Persia. He lost. Alexander elected himself king of kings. He had a great time in Persia.

Porus was a king in India. He lost too, but got to keep his kingdom because he was a smarta$$.

Alexander had a hissy fit and killed his nursemaid's son with a spear. Alexander felt bad about this for around fifteen minutes.

After a short while, Alexander died. He'd have died a lot sooner if they'd had modern medicine in those days. Not a lot of people were sorry to see him go--it was basically, "don't let the door hit you in the butt, Alexander".

He's still dead.

I think that's the gist of it.

I had to take an incomplete in my Alexander the Great seminar because of the clusters and I finally finished my 20 page seminar thesis....so I finally put Alexander to rest!!!!!! He's dead!
Then due to the mental exhaustion of the paper I forgot about my celebratory post and I apologize for any mental agony I put everyone through.
Funeral arrangements have all been made...bibliography and footnotes are in correct order and I have proofread it and prepared the body for a private viewing, invite only.
The final burial is planned for Friday at 4:00 PM.
