Title: LeLimey Post by Mrs_R on Jan 3rd, 2007, 8:24am I don't know if one or two of you know but Helen has been quite poorly lately, and after a bout of Pneumonia a while before Christmas, she has not been able to get back to her full health again. So unfortunately Helen had to be taken into Hospital yesterday and is now receiving some IV fluids and they are doing some tests! I am sure she would value your prayers and vibes! take care Liz |

Within the next day or so she will be moved to a ward where she should have a phone more easily available to her. The department where she is now is a busy one and a lot of calls could be a problem at the moment. As soon as I know the number that you can get Helen on I will let you all know!!! Although she says she is not feeling better but she certainly sounded very much better than she did yesterday!!!! She will be there more than a few days, maybe a week or two!! But she is down on the ward now. Should anyone wish to send her cards etc please IM me for the address and the room telephone number! Unfortunately she has developed an infection in her arm where the IV was, but she has antibiotics for this now. Will keep you posted. |

She had an Endo-------? tube camera down the throat yesterday, Ok, more test Monday. She sounds tired out and needs time to build herself up after the pneumonia, she is also having trouble absorbing Calcium into her system so this is being given to her by IV line. She really does need time to recover, so keep her in your thoughts and prays, I have told her how many of you have posted on here, needless to say she says thanks to everyone. I spoke to Helen on the phone again last night, she sounds very tied, she is still having test done. She says that she does not feel a lot better, but assures me that she is fighting. She tells me that she hopes for some improvement in the coming days. I passed on all your messages and best wishes. I have just spoken to Helen, she sounds so much better it is hard to believe, she says she is beginning to feel better and is now making goods progress. She has received a print out of all the entries on this board, sent by her friend Liz, thanks Liz. She also has some flowers and cards, and says thanks for all of the wonderful messages etc. I have told her to take her time and get well properly but I think, with a bit of luck she will be back before too long. Helen has asked that you all keep everything crossed for her that she can come home on Wednesday and that they can get to the bottom of the white blood cell count being so low! |

I laid in bed some nights crying my eyes out because I couldn't move my hands or feet and I couldn't even move my facial muscles as they were all completey locked up - I was afraid to sleep as I was afraid I wouldn't be able to breathe. It was horrible. I'm much better now though and as you can see, my hands are working! Unfortunately there is a downside as I can talk again now too ::) You can't have it all peeps!
