Title: Xmas Good Deed Post by Pfunk on Dec 24th, 2006, 12:20am Tonight I got out of my car at Target and found a woman's wallet laying on the ground outside my car. I noticed it because ther was some money hanging out of the pocket. I at first, just thoguht that I got lucky and found some money, til I actually saw the wallet itself. I promptly went into the store and asked them to page this woman because I I knew that she would likely be franticly looking for it. This is when I found out that Target has a nationwide policy against paging people in their stores. At this point, I decided to leave the wallet in the car and called 800-free411 and got her #. She called me back in tears, telling me I was a saint and the like. I just kindly said that I would hope someone would do the same for me. She goes to a church around the corner from my house and we are going to meet so I can give it back to her. She asked what she could do for me for doing this and I of course siad nothing as I do not expect anything in return. I guess she's just fortunate that someone did not find it who would take the money and credit cards, etc. No replies required just feeling good about doing something good for someone and thought that my friends might like to hear about it. :) :) :) Pfunk |

Title: Re: Xmas Good Deed Post by brewcrew on Dec 24th, 2006, 9:30am Similar thing happened to me a couple years ago. Found a guy's wallet under a table in a restaurant. I took the cash, ran up about $10K on the cards, and threw it it in the trash. Just kidding! Looked the guy up in the book, called him, arranged to meet somewhere about halfway between our homes, and gave it back to him. He asked me if there was anything he could do, did I want any money, etc. I just told him to do the same thing if he ever found himself in the same situation: Pay it forward. |

Title: Re: Xmas Good Deed Post by Callico_Kid on Dec 25th, 2006, 12:08pm Glad you shared it with us. We hear about so many that do it otherwise that it is good to hear of someone doing right. We had a similar thing happen a couple of years ago with my cell phone. My daughter had needed it to let us know when she got out of a special band practice, but lost it on the way to the school. Another girl found it and her dad called the house to let us know he had it. They wouldn't take anything for it either, but the return was priceless to me. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Jerry |

Title: Re: Xmas Good Deed Post by Charlie on Dec 25th, 2006, 12:20pm http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/swoon.gif Very nice going. You are indeed one of the good guys. I once found $150 inside an old book at a household sale and took a beating from all my friends because I turned it in. It was I that got all the goodwill and more from that episode, not they. Glad to know you. Charlie |

Title: Re: Xmas Good Deed Post by B14CK5H33P on Dec 25th, 2006, 4:49pm Regardless your faith... THAT is what being a Christian is. It's not a book, it's not a building, and it's not how many scriptures you know. It is doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. Peace and Happy Holidays, Carl D |
