Title: Re: Karla how is you son doing? Post by Karla on Dec 24th, 2006, 12:42pm I took him to the ER friday night and they admitted him for a day. He is home now. They said it was the shingles. In 2-3 weeks the rash should be gone off his left leg/groin and he should be feeling better. I want to thank all of you in chat for your care and concern and talking with me about his symptoms. It was a comfort to me to have you there. The pain meds are working now and his pain is minimal today. Thanks for asking Paul. |

Title: Re: Karla how is you son doing? Post by brewcrew on Dec 24th, 2006, 1:13pm Shingles. That's the adult form of chicken pox, right? Except a lot more painful, if I heard right. Despite it, I hope your family has a nice Christmas, Karla and Ted. |

Title: Re: Karla how is you son doing? Post by Karla on Dec 24th, 2006, 2:41pm Thanks Brewcrew for your well wishes and Christmas wishes. May you all have a wonderful Christmas also. Yes shingles is a form of chicken pox and very painful. You get the chicken pox first. The virus that causes that lays dormant in your body for years. Sometimes in some people that virus gets activated again and causes shingles the second time. You can not catch shingles from some one but if he was around someone who hadn't had the chicken pox they could get that. |
