Title: do you recycle
Post by cootie on Dec 23rd, 2006, 12:58pm
Christmas gifts back to other people.....I DON'T mean special stuff from speical people......but trivial things from Xmas parties or Xmas at the inlaws.....like gift bags, containers stuff come in, bows......or trivial do-dads ? Is that wrong or bein cheap ? I been doin that this year.....dunno why it gives me a wierd feelin but it does....kinda funny in a way. I get tons of stuff stuff from the inlaws and Xmas parties and been recycleing this year. Hope no one notices Pam (snicker snicker)

I'm tryin to take a break rite now......got too much goin on.....Xmas stresses me out. But.....thus explains my gabbyness today till the next round tonight of Xmas cheer events.  :P

Gotta be sumwhere every single day all the way thru to next week. Joy to the world week......blech. Wears me out.

PS: I "DON'T" recycle 'that stuff' back to close friends tho.......just back into the family LOOP like to my daughter and kids for stockin stuffers and inlaw stuff added to there gift bag.....or as a gift bag or container or cookie container 'again' kinda stuff !!!!

As long as you can keep track of who gave you what (so you don't give it back to them), I think you're good to go.

We do it all the time (gift bags, bows, etc.).

What strikes me wierd about the holidays is we have SO MANY to buy for it is unreal.....so we buy family stuff and they give us some Xmas money......it all about adds up the same tho......not really ahead. So why not jus cut out all the gift stuff and just keep it a social holiday and less stress and mess.......I sell sum pups and go get more gifts......I get inlaws all gifts and get money or gift card back from Brad's mom that about covers it all for them I spent. My folks give us sum cash which ABOUT covers what I had to spend on my daughter and grand kids and 'gift card' we send them. Shop gives Brad a gift card which 'about' covers what we spend on each other. Seems there could be an easier way around all the madness Pam

I'd LOVE to be less for the wear and tear this time of year.....I'd be alot CHEERIER !!! Mite even put more ho-ho-ho in my step ! It's just NUTS when ya think about it all and how it works out !! We don't really end up ahead at all not even with the puppy sales cuz of all the people on our list to buy for. I'm ready for a deserted Island.....me and my cats.......I can decorate a palm tree no problem.

The dude at the packie gave me a nice coffee mug that comes with expensive booze, right out of the box (the lady buying it didnt want the mug just the booze)

I gave it to the wife and said "Merry Christmas"....LMAO ;;D

Pam - If you ever figure out how to squeeze the commercialism out of Christmas, let me know. We've already jumped on that bandwagon ourselves by putting our foot down. Tomorrow evening we're going out to a movie and then out for Chinese. Christmas day we're headed to my mom's where just the kids will exchange gifts (one small gift only). The adult gift is watching the kids have fun. Then we eat.

Call me Scrooge, but we said Bah Humbug to the whole commercial Christmas years ago. I think it will only happen if enough people decide to sit on their wallets during the season.

Merry Christmas!

Bill

Interesting and I find stuff all over the place that my mother saved, bows and decorations and the like but the oddest was a box of paper, much of it brittle, dating back to WWII. It was mostly small pieces and I think she just liked the design. Strange finding giftwrap made before my birth. It was a time of rationing and victory gardens, of course.

I save some too for small items.  http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/santa gifts.gif
