Title: Why must there be finals? Post by Teresa on Dec 15th, 2006, 10:41pm So, it's that time of the semester again...time for final exams. This must be the most stressful time of the year. I know how much I have learned this semester, but I don't think it is possible to cram 15 weeks of learning into a 2 hour exam... :-/ Oh well, I guess it's back to studying.... Oh, and why would you schedule an exam on a Saturday...and not just any Saturday, the 23 of December, a meer 2 days before Christmas!?!?! I'm just glad I'm only an hour and a half from home (and that's if I drive the speed limit ;) ) |

Title: Re: Why must there be finals? Post by alienspacebabe on Dec 16th, 2006, 12:47am Why? So you can prove how incredibly intelligent you are.... or maybe it's just so that the parents who pay the tuition will have proof that their kid did something other than party.....? I lover you! Now go study your butt off.... |

Title: Re: Why must there be finals? Post by sandie99 on Dec 16th, 2006, 3:47am Exam 2 DAYS before Christmas???! That horrible! >:( i thought that it was bad enough when my flat mate has her final exam on 21st... Teresa, back in here schools and universities have more sense. Us unifolkes are on Christmas vacation already and school kids have their final school days ahead early next week. Then it will be just Christmas Party and off to vacation. Lots of luck for your exam! [smiley=thumb.gif] Best wishes, Sanna |

Title: Re: Why must there be finals? Post by BarbaraD on Dec 16th, 2006, 4:46am Teresa, After years of cramming (I'm not a good test taker) for finals, I finally developed a system: I'd read the book before I ever went to the first class (didn't understand all of it, but ....), then take notes and ask questions in class (what I read is making sense now) and when finals came I'd just go over my notes. After I started doing this my test scores were mostly "A's", with a minimum of study. Won't help you this semester, but might next one. Good luck on your finals. Hugs BD |

Title: Re: Why must there be finals? Post by E-Double on Dec 16th, 2006, 10:03am If ya truly want to "remember" all that you need to for your exams then do not cram one particuliar subject. Imbed important information into other subject matter and that will be rememberered. If you are studying history then alternate between psychology or math. It is loosely based on Von Restorff effect. A proven way to REMEMBER important information. Good luck and breathe! Almost done hun |

Title: Re: Why must there be finals? Post by Karla on Dec 16th, 2006, 12:28pm I learned by osmosis. I would put my pile of books under my head when I went to bed and I would sleep like that. Obsorbing and dreaming of nothing but school stuff. I would get A's on all my finals so there must be something to it. No really, I felt there was just to much material to cover and either I already knew it or I never would attitude. Good luck in your studing. I hope you do well. |

Title: Re: Why must there be finals? Post by Teresa on Dec 16th, 2006, 2:16pm Woobie...you get scheduled to work on Christmas? That really does not sound like much fun. Thanks for the suggestions on how to make studying/remembering easier. I'm not usually a crammer, but every once in a while, unfortunately, that is what happens... Oh, and no worries, Mommy's money isn't going to waste! ;) ;) |
