Why so BRAVE.....I heard mice are evolveing ? Never seen them do the stuff they been doin ! Never had them like this before and we have poison and traps setup outside and traps inside too. Title: Re: computer flu and mouse protection Post by Redd715 on Dec 11th, 2006, 10:07pm I got them mice too Pam...you aren't the only one. I have both blockes of poison and the pellets, and still they get into the pantry and chew into the pancake mix, the pasta, the cake mixes and tear apart rolls of paper towel under my sink to make their damn nests. I'm all for live and let live, but live in your own house and not mine! Thats where I draw the line. Chewy procreating again is my explaination for the population boom..doom and micey gloom...Pegg..hahahaha |

Title: Re: computer flu and mouse protection Post by cootie on Dec 12th, 2006, 9:21pm I've dealt with mice before.......and in the country it can be expected but never have I seen mice like these little fur ball rodents.......never walked thru the house and seen mice sittin in the cat food bowls EATING.....or sit down to watch tv and see em run past me and past my cats like there doin. I have seen them runnin around outside too.......sumthin DIFFERENT about this group. With 11 cats outside (I counted today) and 4 inside it's even more bazzaar. And never sat on the computer while mice watched ME and were sittin on my file boxes and books and stuff !! CREEPY CRAWLY SHIT MONGERS Pam Mice have fleas too.......I don't want them in here either !! The mice are actually goin into my dog pens.....I can't believe it. The Mice files......M/FILES....new series of ailiens !?! PS: last time I updated online onea them antivirus programs it screw'd up my brouser BAD....messed everything up. Had to delete the program after I paid for it and then got charged the next year even tho I sent emails and filled out shit online and called to CANCEL and explain. So I am afraid to pay for AVG.....hell it's like 49 bucks now startin in Jan. !!! I think they all around about that much now to update yearly.....but to think it mite wreck yer computer and ya get stuck with a two year program or longer ya can't get out of scares me. It's all a racket...........McAfee caused alot of grief......I dunno WHAT to do ! HELP !! |

I have a Norton cd from a couple years ago and used to use it but was a bit nervous to update online and be billed afater that MESS with Mcaffee a few years back and it crashin my computer.....slow dialup is a PAIN too with updateing addin to it all. Title: Re: computer flu and mouse protection Post by Mosaicwench on Dec 13th, 2006, 8:09am I must be the only person here who likes Mcafee. I pay for it on two computers because, like anti-biotics in the real world, bugs come around regularly. I'm on their subscription service and it auto-updates often and auto-renews once a year. I had ONE problem with it a few weeks ago after an update and the customer support I got was fabulous. THEY actually called me at home to check on the solution - and the customer rep spoke english and was in the STATES! I'll keep 'em for as long as they keep producing a good product. Flame away. |

Title: Re: computer flu and mouse protection Post by LeLimey on Dec 13th, 2006, 8:33am Good for you for finding something you like! one thing I know for sure is opinions are like bottoms, everyone has one. The important thing is finding software you like be it Microsoft or Linux or AVG or Macafee or whatever. There is no point in using stuff you don't like so I'm just glad you have what works for you! edited cos I used US spelling instead of Brit and it censored me! |

Title: Re: computer flu and mouse protection Post by lskilly on Dec 13th, 2006, 11:35am Norton has done a good job for me for several years. I do go buy the CD anytime they make a major change. I have my PC set to update every night. same for Spy Sweeper that is free with msn. Most ISPs are now offering free Spyware, Virus protection, and Phishing filters. Lskilly |

Title: Re: computer flu and mouse protection Post by Kirk on Dec 14th, 2006, 8:50am Using the program you are most comfortable with is always a good idea. Norton and McKafee are both good commercial products. AVG and Avast are both excellent commercial products. That will let you have a free home edition. As for me. I prefer a four button, scroll mouse. [smiley=smokin.gif] |

Title: Re: computer flu and mouse protection Post by cootie on Dec 14th, 2006, 12:34pm AVG (which I have now) will no longer be free as of mid Jan and will be bout 49 bucks to BUY and have the updateing ect ect goin on......I have Norton and McAfee cd's but both run about the same to update yearly......am sure McAfee is a good product but I was onea the percentage of people's that's brousers or computers could crash with updateing it. Am sure that can happen with all the products ? But it ruin'd everything and I found out the ONLY WAY to fix it was to delete the program and go thru my computer by hand deleteing all it's files that stayed. Then it was back to normal but TOOK A WHILE cuz I tried to reinstall it and it had everything so screw'd up THAT was even almost impossible to do. Couldn't surf or do research......shit was mess'd up. Anyhow.....I tried and tried to contact them thru calls and emails you name it.....would be on hold on the phone for over a half hour (my dime) waitin for tech help and gave up. Even tried the 'talk live tech help' and they advised I call cuz since my brouser and stuff was ruin'd it wasn't makein sense to them I couldn't update or get updates or even research cuz of the messed up pages. So I got stuck with two years of updates charged on my card cuz I could not get it cancel'd. I don't wanna go that route again with ANY PRODUCT. Credit card co wouldn't ban Mcafee from chargein me either.....soooooooo.........thus my concern on what the best route would be for keepin my computer HEALTHY. My server does do some sort of virus protection but they recommend a product along with what they can do working. Buyin a antivirus cd will run ya bout 50 bucks too......see what I mean.......money money money bye bye money Pam So am wonderin if I should jus BUY AVG since it works on here and same price for updateing probly a year ? Dam slow dialup makes the updateing jam up stuff sum days cuz it runs too slow. OK .......sorry to go on and on.......suma this info mite help others to when AVG expires on em abruptly soon if they don't buy it. PS: I like yer mouse don.........what's it look like 'after' 36 hours ??? ;;D ;;D ;;D |

Title: Re: computer flu and mouse protection Post by cootie on Dec 14th, 2006, 11:23pm Get this !! I just got a notice McAFee successully renew'd my account on my credit card for $ 42.79......WHAT ? I bout crapped my sweats when I got that email.....I thought the nitemare was over !? I been tryin to ditch them for about 2 years now or longer and have email'd several places.....tried to call.......and talked to live support on there web site to be cancell'd and EXPLAIN it was not compatible for sum reason. I don't have the product and not used it in a few years dam it......but they have successfully charged me for three years in a row for sumthin I don't have ! That is scarey shit......I even emailed them not to renew or ever charge my account again ONLINE. So anyhow I did manage to keep my cool and got on live support and got this dude to UNDERSTAND and cancel and refund me. No more auto charges he said to worry about either. (lets hope) I'm NOT knocking the product....it jus was not compatible on my other computer and about ruin'd it and not sure if it jus didn't like the brouser or what the deal was but it took a LONG time to get it up and runnin NORMAL to where you could read web pages and things were normal sized ect ect. But I HAD to do manual searches for all McAfee files and delete them by hand and do sum other shit to get it going. I don't want to TRY that again. So anyhow.....moral to this story is......be careful with them auto renewals and rabid mice !!! (you may get billed for renewals after you ditch yer computer and not even know it if ya don't check.....if ya don't cancel within so much time your screw'd) Virual tendency's Pam |
