Red eared slider turtle (actually these turtles are bred for pets, but have/are being introduced into the wild).

This turtle (think it's a common mud turtle) was waaaaay out in the middle of the lake.

Beautiful as always Carolyn, I love the one of the light through the trees in particular, it made me think of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" for some reason!

Beware the slider turtle if it isn't native to the area. Rotten things have found their way into some of our waterways are devastating the habitat.
