Pearl Harbor was attacked 65 years ago.....

This is the last year the vets are meeting there because of their ages.

It's a shame, but most kids in school today don't have a clue what Dec 7th means to this country.

It was a day that will live in infamay (probably misspelled) or until we forget.......

Some of us will never forget the atrocities Barb, we'll make sure our kis won't too. I won't and I know you'll do the same.
We can't bring all those young men and women back but we can make sure we remember them with pride, honour and thanks. Always.

I remember talking with my grandmother and some of my uncles. They told me how they watched the planes fill the sky that morning and could'nt believe what the were seeing. My grandfather was killed a year later when they were still pulling ships from the harbor, a crane fell on him. Years later my dad came across a downed japanese plane when he and some of his friends were playing in the jungle. They thought it was the neatest thing ever.
FYI, although the last of the mighty battleships are mothballed or have been turned into a museum (USS Missouri BB-63) there is still one battleship in commision...........The USS Arizona. I tried all day to log onto the Missouri cam to get a view of what was going on but had no success. To bad about the history books in Japan, they left a lot of facts out including what they did in China and the Philipines.
Those sailors, soldiers, marines, airmen and the rest of the nation are truly part of the greatest generation ever.

It really shook us out of the magnolias. We grew up so fast. Good thing for the world too.

We lose so many every day. It's hard for me to imagine a world without these guys. My relatives and adult friends were youngsters then and when I was a kid. It was a trip being around the guys that worked for my dad. Aside from the service, I met guys that sat on oil tankers in the Atlantic manning shipboard anti sub and anti aircraft weapons.

What a time.

;;D ;;D I remember Pearl Harbor, but December 7th took on a whole new meaning for us here at the Hallahan House!
This December 7th is the 8th anniversary of Terri and I taking custody of the Grandkids. Heaven Leigh and Trysten Kyle!
She is now 13 and he's 9 and it sure has make an impact on our lives!

depends on how and with what kind of eyes you are looking at the story.

You might think im cynical here but from the european way of seing this it was our luckiest day in the world when the japs did the attack on Pearl Harbour

It really was in the way that it did wake up the american peoples and that you finally attended the WW2.

There will be pure speculations to guess what would have happend here in Europe if this did not happend

Of course there is NO WINNERS in a war but i do not think the europeans would have made it trough if not for the US help

Just my 2 cent worth
