The alternative

As I sit alone,
worn to the bone,
weary from the fight.

I realized though,
I have won the prize,
My friends it has brought.

This dance we do,
although the distance true,
a long way apart.

Together we,
are close as can be,
lend words from in our heart.

The goal we seek,
when we feel weak,
to help another friend.

This is as true,
as love can be,
to help, to hold, to care.

To others strange,
this family,
to us the greatest thing.

Across the world,
we join as one,
to hold each other close.

Bring forth the best,
to one small place,
and these will all appear.

I can never true,
show how I need,
those here that help me through.

With this I hope,
will let in light,
a darkness deep inside.

The alternative,
to this would be,
a deadful time indeed.
