Title: Re: Snow Day!! Post by FramCire on Dec 1st, 2006, 10:39am Where I am school was out yesterday (which save me my 45 minute trek to work with my kids) and today (I dont work Friday though). In Massachusetts though, we would have had schoool yesterday (not that bad) and probably even today. Another perk of Missouri. |

Title: Re: Snow Day!! Post by brewcrew on Dec 1st, 2006, 11:02am Sittin' in my easy chair, sipping my 3rd cup a joe, already snowblowed (snowblew?) the driveway once, working from home, checking my voicemail when I feel like it, and taking in the beauty that is Wisconsin winter. Nothing cooler than watching two corgis play in the snow. http://home.wi.rr.com/pmitchell/postedimages/woodie1.JPG Lizzie, wanna go sledding? We have a place in the Falls called Killer Hill that empties out into the Menomonee River if'n your sled goes too fast and too far. Boy, is it gorgeous outside! (edit to add Woodie's picture) |

Title: Re: Snow Day!! Post by Woobie on Dec 1st, 2006, 11:22am Yep On my 3.5 hour treck home from work this morning - i saw a snow plow getting towed out of the ditch. The tow truck it takes to get a snow plow out is HUGE!!!!! Took me 3.5 hours to get home this morning - i get ONE house away from home, and get stuck. The car is still there, Ramon cannot dig me out - and it's getting buryed. LMAO ONE house away. I guess that's a good place to get stuck.. i just got out and came home ........ this whole thing pisses me off. THEY KNEW ..... 3 days ago they KNEW this was coming - and the plows just sit on the side of the interstate and they arent PLOWING. Meanwhile, people are going into ditches like crazy. WHY do they DO THAT??????? WHY do they do that? I know there's GOTTA be a reason. Ramon says that there's no point if it's still snowing - but YES THERE IS!!!!!!! The town I live in - there's plows ALL over the town - sitting there. On the interstate on the way home - plows on the side - not plowing. WHY????????? UGH i'm goin to bed - so there :P Love you guys! woobs |

Title: Re: Snow Day!! Post by drivin_blind on Dec 1st, 2006, 1:08pm Everybody is closed today. Even the community college. Nope, not us. Drove in behind somebody driving a 4 wheel drive pick-up at 20 fricken miles an hour. Gotta drive 20 miles to work, and on Fridays I come in at 7:30. I drive a Subaru and it handles better than my Jeep. The older I get, the more I hate this S***. It's snowing at the rate of about 2" an hour right now. Wife's going to fly to Flordia out of Flint airport at 5:45 today. (if they are open). Did I say I really hate this S***? Dick |

Title: Re: Snow Day!! Post by Teresa on Dec 1st, 2006, 6:24pm So we didn't get too much snow here in Madison...we must have just gotten the northern edge of the storm :'( But...in the couple of inches that there are...I got to go out and march for an hour and a half... ::) No playing the trumpet though...it was a little too cold and the valves didn't move... I just keep thinking of being in Orlando in 3 1/2 weeks for the bowl game ::) |

Title: Re: Snow Day!! Post by alienspacebabe on Dec 1st, 2006, 7:01pm 12 1/2 inches on my lawn! Did I mention that I forgot to put down my patio umbrella? It's huge, with a pole bent in half, sitting exactly where I see it every time I walk through the dining room. Oh, and the neighbor (responsible for snow removal) still hasn't shoveled my half of the driveway yet - fortunately I found a rather stale pack of cigarettes hidden upstairs. brew - I used to sled at Suicide Hill on Menomonee River Parkway. I'll swear I remember ambulances just sitting there waiting for someone to get hurt. |
