So for the past 8 or 9 months I've been saving up to do this awesome driving experience thing where I get to learn how to drive a race car (my absolute dream job!)

After 9 long months, I have finally saved enough money and will be bringing my "supportee" (mommy) to Las Vegas so that she can support me (how ironic! ;) ).

January 12th, 8am, Las Vegas Speedway!

SO EXCITED!!!!!! ;;D :D ;;D

43 days and counting

T - Is this a NASCAR type vehicle, or open wheel? Sounds like a Depends moment for a lot of us.

A friend of mine did it there and had an absolute blast, I just got to see the video.
He actually did it without telling his wife first and did two sessions in one day so you know that cost him. In the video he looks at the camera and says “I love you honey” the look on his face was priceless! One of those, I know I am dead but dam this was worth it.

You are in for a real treat. I've had my car to Phoenix International Raceway several times and there is nothing like it for miles of smiles. A little pricey when you consider the $500. track fees and the fact that you burn through a set of tires in two days, and oh the brakes. This would have to tb more fun using their car.

Have a blast and prepare to be humbled. You'l think your doing great until you let one of the pros behind the wheel for a spin.

It's a NASCAR style stock car. I'm not sure how fast I will be going...but I'm sure it will be pretty darned fast!

Almost as fast as that trip on I-94 from Madistan to Milwaukee. ;;D

She got to drive my BMW from Johnson Creek to Wauwatosa. Made the trip in 15 minutes ::) - damn fast driver, that kid!

We're definitely going! Flying out early on the 10th; flying home overnight on the 14th/15th. Staying at Fitzgeralds.

Of course we'll be attending the CES/AVN convention stuff - simply can't miss that. ::)

Top speed is about 170 in the racing school cars, but there aren't many that get it up there. Hope you do! Enjoy!

:o170 miles per hour...geez that's fast...I CAN'T WAIT!!! Only 36 days left until I will be driving a race car for the first (hopefully not last) time in my life! :D :D :D

I did the Richard Petty Driving Experience at Charlotte Motor Speedway several years ago. I think I only got into the low 150's. My brother in law clicked into the 160's. It is a blast and you will not be able to stop smiling for about 3 days after you do it. You do get to sign a few legal waivers before you pop into the car to dirve. At one point I had no doubt that if they chose to take you out back and beat you senseless that your legal right to do anything about it was waived.

Overall one of those things that I will never regret having done. A BLAST!
