Title: Running out of ideas and need some help! Post by LadyElaine1 on Nov 27th, 2006, 12:20pm Maybe its because I am in cycle that I don't seem to beable to come up with ideas these days. I need ya'll help. You all know I homeschool JD. That takes money, I have to buy all his books, his pictures, all his school stuff. I need to raise some money. Not a lot of money just some extra to help. Ya'll know I can raise money for anyone in need, and I am good at raising money for churches and org's like OUCH. When it comes to making money for something like our little homeschool, I go brain dead. I figure I will just ask my friends for ideas. Ebay is a good idea but you have to have something to sale and I don't. DON'T ANYONE SEND MONEY! All I want is some ideas I can set into action. Working a job is out. The only time I could go out and work would be nights and week ends. I can't see to drive at night with the time change thats out. I don't want to kill anyone. Buddy won't let me work week ends its the only time we see each other. There has to be some way I can raise a few dollars a week. Now a second question how the hell do ya refill ink in a printer? I got a refill kit but the directions suck! Having a bad brain day could use ya'll help ! |

Title: Re: Running out of ideas and need some help! Post by davyp on Nov 27th, 2006, 12:59pm Hi Elaine, when i need to raise some quick money for the local schools that family members attend i do a penny raffle. Get a raffle ticket book and tear out and fold say the first 150 (i usualy do 300) tickets and place in a bowl then get people to pick a ticket and what ever they pick is what they pay IE: if they get 1,17,26 and 150 they pay £1.94 then write down in a pad all the numbers from 1 to 150 and put their name next to the tickets they picked when all tickets are gone you draw out say 3 tickets and the first wins £25 the second £15 and the third £5. 150 tickets if all sold will give you a grand total of £109.60 leaving a profit of £64.60 minus the couple of quid for the raffle book. But with the more tickets sold the higher the profit goes, good if you have any large gatherings coming up. Hope you sort somthing out. Dape |

Title: Re: Running out of ideas and need some help! Post by Linda_Howell on Nov 27th, 2006, 2:51pm Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but didn't someone here sell a $5.00 OUCH coffee cup on E-bay a few years ago and it went for 50.00 bucks? Charlie is right that people will buy almost anything there and pay way more than it's worth. Elaine you said you don't have anything to sell, but you may want to re-think that and look around the house with a different slant on things. Kids outgrown clothes that are in good condition, used books, tools, etc. Linda |

Title: Re: Running out of ideas and need some help! Post by LadyElaine1 on Nov 27th, 2006, 5:15pm I will try the ebay thing again. I tried it a few times but just never found the right thing to sale. The best thing I ever sold were the cloths she wore when she was PG with JD. They sold like hotcakes. I am thinking about opening a produce stand next summer. My husband and I use to run several. Made a living at it. JD would love it he could do it with me in the summer. Thanks for all the ideas and emails. |

Title: Re: Running out of ideas and need some help! Post by nani on Nov 28th, 2006, 12:16am Elaine, I still have tons of teaching stuff, and I'm not teaching much lately. PM me what you're working on, and I can get stuff to you. Eric is right...there's lots of free stuff online. Try Discovery kids for science, it's great! The public schools often give away older textbooks and workbooks, call and ask about discards. Also, at JD's age there's a lesson in everything. Shopping trips, nature walks, a visit to the zoo or museum. First grade is awesome! Lemme know, sweetie. hugs, nani edited for spelling :-[ |
