Title: Any one got any tips for the Holidays!
Post by LadyElaine1 on Nov 24th, 2006, 12:47pm
Cooking tips I have.

1.all those left overs that take up so much room in the fridge. Put them in zip lock bags takes less room.
2. I like corn bread Dressing all year round. I also like cornbread so every time I cook cornbread, I take the left over put it in a baggie and crush it up and freeze it. When I want dressing I already have the cornbread and it crushed.
3. Cook as much as you can ahead of time, that leaves more time for you to enjoy your guess. It makes for less rush and a hour or two later you can sleep on Thanksgiving day. This year I even cooked the Turkey a day ahead of time. It made it much better for me and it was good too.
4. I don't have but one small table, abd a counter to eat from. This year I took the outside padio table and covered it with a table cloth and put it beside my regular table, Buddy and I sat in two computer chairs. It worked and was confortable.
5. The best thing about it all we had time for each other, I used chianet paper plates and clean up was easy.
6. We were all tired but it was from having fun not from work.

Whats your tips!

Ladies:

While shopping, make sure you take a cart with the baby straps.  Zip up your purse and lock it place with the baby strap through the purse strap.  Purse and content will be safe, and the store camaras will catch the potential theif as they are shocked when the purse can't be easily lifted.

Pour left over peanut oil from fryer in neighbors garden, then run. Don't forget to steal morning paper!

When flusterd for time with desserts.....use a box cake mix for you base instead of starting from scratch, you can always tweak it and add extra's and make it special.

I agree with paper plates and plastic ware it truly does make life easier, also paper napkins!  Glad disposable dishes are great for sending ppl home with leftovers and for storing in the fridge too!

And just relax, nobody usually cares or notices if something isn't perfect (I gotta follow my own advice there!)

Complain to your neighbor about the excessive amount of flies in his backyard then ask him if heard kids running through the yards early in the morning. This automatically throws suspicion away from you.

Better Tip for shopping don't take your purse wear tight jeans and keep money and ID and cards in your front pocket. Makes it easier to push someone out of your way if you don't have that purse when diving for that special gift.
::)
Wear running shoes!

You'll notice that the guy is not wearing socks.  I believe those are his socks in his pocket.

Surprised you all missed the obvious explanation.

Ummm... to SOME, this might seem to be a hijack.......

but here goes anyway...

E- Do Christmas the KISS method, honey! Keep it simple, and don't stress out, please. Ask yourself what everyone got last year.......are they still enjoying it?? Do they even remember it?? Do they remember laughing together last year?
Make it a GOOD Christmas.... one you can reflect on without reminding yourself how quickly it passed and how it'll take you all of Jan to rest up from........

Sun, my grandson and I will be making my trad shortbread together, and when it's all packed up it might not look perfect, but people will understand when I explain that we had a wonderful time baking and dipping it....and Michael and I will have another good memory of things we have done together.

THIS is the year I begin to enjoy every moment of Christmas, and I hope you do too!!
