Ok now that I've hopefully gotten your turkey laced attention, how was Turkey (or turducken) day?  Good food, good conversations, etc etc?

MMMmmmmm, what is a turducken?

There were just 5 of us.  The turkey turned out.  My teenager made 10 lbs of mashed potatoes and she is still eating them.  But, yes, I'm stuffed.

amazing!  i just got out of the hospital yesterday so my mom stayed up here (at college) with me and cooked me everything i wanted and we had stuffing with apples in it and it was soooooooooooooooo good!!!!!!!!!  it was quiet but it was nice to spend lots of quality time with her just relaxing and enjoying being home and recovering, im still really tired and have a pretty persistant shadow headache (kip scale 3?)  we discovered the true meaning of thanksgiving is about stuffing yourself full with yummy food and avoiding stressful family members...hahaha not.  but my older brother is in georgia and spent the holidays with his new wife's family in tennessee and my dad stayed at home since he had missed time working (he's a potter) being up here with me earlier and is coming on monday to take me to johns hopkins for a pre sinus surgery consult (which i know isnt going to change the clusters, its something we've been planning before they started because of true sinus infections and asthma, ive just been lucky enough to have both).
hahaha sorry i guess im a little bit talkative right now when this is just for everyone's thanksgivings were!!!!!!!
so just ignore that if you want.  my thanksgiving was wonderful, wonderful food, very VERY relaxing, and now i am stuffed and near comatose.  ;;D

Grrrr I hate my butter fingers.....I had this reply all typed out and somehow deleted it all (not the first time)

Swim....That sounds like a wonderful, perfect day.  Always cherish special times like that truly!

Char....A turducken is a turkey stuffed with a chicken stuffed with a duck.  I was extrememly leary of trying it but ended up LOVING it .....absolutly delicious.  10LBS of mashed???  LOL she's gonna be eating for awhile!

Chewy......I'm gonna ZZZZZZZZZZZ after one more glass of wine ;;D

It was a great day. Saw all the new great and great-great grandkids (I think my daughter-in-law remembers their names). About a hundred in all (seemed like more) and everyone trying to catch up on all the news.

Caleb played till he gave out totally. He loves his cousins he only sees occasionally. One of his uncles offered him a dollar if he found an orange pecan in the yard and one of his cousins made sure he did. Then another one took him to the Dollar Store to spend his new fortune.... When he got to the checkout stand he put his new "gun" on the stand and the checker told him it was $1.08. He gave her his dollar and told her that was all he had.... He came home with the gun. Matt  (the cousin who took him on the shopping spree) said the checker didn't have the heart to take the gun away from him. Matt swears he didn't chip in the 8 cents.

I'm still trying to figure out who some of these kids belong to. (But I'm OLD)

Anyhow kids, Granny's stuffed and is going to bed now. Tomorrow is another day --- the beginning of the Christmas season... But this is one Granny who won't be waiting in front of Wal-mart at 5 a.m. to fight the "first rush" crowd.

Hope everyone is stuffed and gets a good night's sleep (and a painfree one).

Hugs BD

sounds wonderfully full barb....I soo miss those HUGE family gatherings of yesterday.  I hope when I am a grammie I get to have those huge gatherings where there are so many kids I'm not sure who belongs to who.  That's so cute about Caleb and the dollar store.  My two (5 and 6) are the same way about their dollar allowance.....I am trying so hard to teach them the value of money and about saving for better things...I've even bribed them to save 10 whole dollars and I'd chip in 10 to buy them a special toy, so far no go on that. ;;D

Was overly stuffed.  Ya know how after a while ya go round for 2nds?  Well I kept waiting for food to settle to make room for more.  Wasn't until around 7pm that another plate seemed doable.

Will have to wait for the chocolate oatmeal candy though.  It's one of my favorites.  Maybe I can talk the wife into making it today.
