Title: You've got to be kidding! Post by burnt-toast on Nov 17th, 2006, 11:26am Hearing several reports of local violence associated with individuals lined up to purchase the "limited number" of new PlayStation systems and now shootings? What is wrong with some folks. Seems as if we've become a society of suckers without self-control when commercial ploys can lead to such nonsense. It's getting really insane when when you need Keep your head down or go armed when shopping for game system. Tom |

Yup but don't forget then you get the other extreme.. my kids don't have a playstation (I'm a mum with a laundry fetish obviously!) They play outside all they can. Carrie can tell you Barney, my 11 year old broke his arm while we were on our way to Stonehenge messing about on the playing fields at school and then two weeks later I had to take him BACK to hospital as he had broken his cast.. bouncing on a trampoline with ten other kids (with a bloody broken arm!) The hospital said it was the first time they had ever, ever had a kid break a cast. Then I had to take Jasper to A&E three sunday's in a row last year, jumping off the bumpbeds (okay bunk beds but my version is more honest!) jumping off the bump bed ladder - bump beds are now two singles - and last but not least, jumping off the kitchen table with my broom between his legs shouting " I'm Harry Potter!" Sometimes a playstation looks AWFULLY attractive... ;) |

Title: Re: You've got to be kidding! Post by pubgirl on Nov 18th, 2006, 6:40am Secretly watching my husband playing "Guitar Hero" while headbanging and pretending to be a Rock Legend is worth having a Playstation for- bloody funny! (superb buy if you haven't got one) Do these people know that lots of PS2 games won't play on PS3 - they say it is an error, yeh, yeh, yeh and we are all going to fall for that one and buy a PS3 AND all the new games. W P.S. Helen I agree with you but caved in a few months ago and got a PS2, George rarely plays it though. Have you got "The Dangerous Book for Boys"? It is brilliant, George is gagging to find a rabbit to skin and has already made a catapult. Wonderful Christmas present for a boy or a tomboy! |

Title: Re: You've got to be kidding! Post by LeLimey on Nov 18th, 2006, 7:02am Wendy I've bought it against my better judgement for Barney - don't say I have to buy him a piggin' rabbit 'n all?! LMAO |

Title: Re: You've got to be kidding! Post by pubgirl on Nov 18th, 2006, 7:26am [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=laugh.gif] Barney will love it and you won't regret it if you avoid the dead rabbits! (although I remember my disgusting older brother, amongst many other killing type hobbies trapping moles for people who were upset about molehills in their lawns for cash and skinning them and sewing them together and he turned out quite a normal adult, I promise. He later developed a conscience and started trapping them live and releasing them elsewhere) I think the book might be a bit "Brit" (not written by one though) but G loved all the bits about Pirates and secret ink and planets and cricket and rugby etc etc etc. It is his bed-time reading book he loves it so much. I love the nostalgia of it from the days before we became so obsessed with technology...... (she sighs wistfully) Love W |

We don't want anything happening to our Kenn. Maybe he should start packing heat at work! There's nothing the idiots won't do to be the first on the block to have their PS3! It could be like target practice - masqerading as crowd control. |

I don't know about anyone else, but I've gotta get one of those. ;) I see it's available through amazon.co.uk, but isn't scheduled for distribution in the US until May 1, 2007. I put it on my wish list at Amazon. 8) Best, George |
