I submitted this to the landmark challenge on the wetcanvas site. We planted 4 types of grapes when we moved into our house in 1987. We didn't know anything about spacing so they are about 18 inches apart, and the kids parked their bikes on them for a season, and only the thompson seedless vine died. They take over the side yard every year, and Joe cuts them back every February.

I love it Charlotte. When I lived in Cyprus I had grape vines growing over a little patio beside me and the bunches just used to hang down and look so beautiful. When Carrie and I went to Stratford upon Avon we saw an old Elizabethan garden exactly the same as it had been with a centuries old vine growing along a wall that had grapes on it and I was fascinated, I was looking at grapes from a vine Shakespeare would have had wine made from and it just amazed me. I love grape vines, I think they are absolutely beautiful (as well as bearing scrumptious fruit and the leaves making such lovely dolmades too!) This picture has captured so many memories all over again and it's really put a smile on my face this afternoon, thank you! [smiley=hug.gif]
