Title: OUCH (UK) Post by DJ on Nov 11th, 2006, 3:33pm In case everyone hasn't noticed... this is NOT an OUCH (UK) site. I understand the fact that some folks have problems with OUCH (UK), but please keep your internal problems, bitches, gripes, complaints, and differences on the OUCH (UK) site. I don't want to see the political BS on clusterheadaches.com. If you feel the need to bitch, start your own site and spend your own bandwidth to do your bitching. Everyone is more than welcome to join the community here at clusterheadaches.com as individuals, but this site will not become a bitching board at, to, about, or for another organization. Thank you for your support and understanding. Respectfully, DJ |

DJ, Please do *not* take this the wrong way. I realize that you bear the burden of the costs associated with running this site, and you get to run it any way you want, period. I understand that. But how did the line get drawn at bitching about OUCH (UK)? I mean, we have threads that go on incessantly about non-clusterhead crap like Reblicans vs. Democrats for weeks at a time, and I have never seen you delete one of those threads. The OUCH (UK) debate is certainly more related to clusterheads (and the support available to them) than many other topics we discuss, right? I was (and still am) dumbfounded that the topic was just deleted (like it never happened) instead of locked... it was legitimate debate, at least as legitimate as many other topics here. Like I said, it's definitely your call, and your board. I haven't really been that active on this board since I lost my twins... I guess that really knocked the wind out of me. I'm not sure I'll ever recover from that. I guess that's a good thing, since now I am left wondering what little pissing match here is going to cause some other topic to become forbidden. Are you going to start banning members too? I better stop.... maybe you get it, maybe you don't care... I guess it doesn't really matter anyway. Respectfully (and I mean that), Shawn (soon to be Guest... I'm guessing) |

Title: Re: OUCH (UK) Post by Beastfodder on Nov 13th, 2006, 5:54am Hallelujah Common sense prevails. I'm in OUCH UK and still post about my success with alternatives (ironically it was reading their 'mushroom disclaimer' back in 2003/4 that set me on the path to pain relief). Sure there a few issues but this is about pain relief not politics. It's not about evangelism it's about basic information sufferers can learn from. Still I really wouldn't like to go on an OUCH UK camping trip since I can't get the image of everyone p*ss*ng in their tents out of my mind. Much prefer Margi's style in Canada where they have barbecues and sing 'Oh Canada' round the camp fire in tribute to South Park! |

this is all starting to have the appearance of one of those 1930's high society farce movies where there are these seemingly endless series of people storming in and out of the room, saying something, and then storming out...... can people simply not just take a break without the announcement of going "guest", or actually going "guest" and then having eveyone have to figure out "what's wrong?" clusterheadaches.com, like anything else, has its good days and its bad. if it's getting on your nerves or upsetting you. Title: Re: OUCH (UK) Post by LeLimey on Nov 13th, 2006, 12:59pm Foobs whilst I can see your point I'd just like to add that the political threads are started and participated in by people who are here regularly. People who come to the site to support, laugh, joke and help others. I'd hazard a guess if I started a post about OUCH UK it would have been different than someone coming here who has never offered a kind word to anyone but who is merely using ch.com as a platform to vent their own spite. BIG DIFFERENCE between the two types of people and I think that was the point being made. Helen |

Title: Re: OUCH (UK) Post by wildhaus on Nov 13th, 2006, 1:51pm As it seems to me some of the posters on this thread have “AGENDAS” I don’t care about your “AGENDAS”, nor do I think you should have your “AGENDAS” discussed in this “village”. I would dare and say you have NO RIGHT to discuss your “AGENDAS” in OUR VILLAGE! farce's rarely do involve "high drama". everyone's got the right to say what they wish. I don't think I said anything to the contrary. Title: Re: OUCH (UK) Post by Tiannia on Nov 15th, 2006, 1:13pm Fubar, I beleve that in starting the thread talking about how whatever is done over there and blah blah blah, here at CH.com have nada to do with it. The reason that each and every thread on this site is not CH related is because many of us look at CH as a part of our life, not that our life is a part of CH. CH is something that I deal with when a hit comes, but before and after I LIVE. Every part of my life is not about CH so why should every thread on this site be about CH? The beauty of this site is that we all get to know each other outside the hits. Outside our fights with the beast, deamon, whatever you want to call him, and we get to see that others can live a life inspite of having CH. That is what this site brought me. When I came here it was my first cycle, well only cycle as I started out chronic, and I felt like my entire life had come to a screaching halt because of these headaches. But this site and the people here showed me that my life did not have to be defined by CH. And that has gotten me thru 4+ years of fighting this bastard that rips my head apart. ok I'll stop now. ;) You know DJ I have to meet you someday and thank you for saving my life, my marriage and my sanity. |

Not to keep this fire burning, but I can't let this just stand as a true description of the events or the people in the thread in question. Helen, with all due respect, you know that Carl does not fit the description of "someone that has never offered a kind word to anyone" Its true that he may not be well known here but he has helped a great number of people and has offered a great deal of help and support to many people. And to those that think this place is not full of people venting their own spite.....you must be suffering from selective reading. People here bitch about everything from their hairdresser to their president. As to dirty laundry, I'm surprised there isn't a specific header for those posts :-/ And Helen, if you post about how wonderful OUCH UK is, I'm sure Flash and a few others will be here to help build a thread of your own that could be deleted. ;-) I understand your point about the perception of who is who and who's posts are ok and who's aren't. Not sure that I agree but it's DJs site and he can run it as he sees fit..I have no problem with that and support fully, his decisions. I just didn't like letting the impression that was left about Carl, to stand. Bobw |
