Title: OVERTIME!!!
Post by alienspacebabe on Nov 8th, 2006, 11:34pm
Day 3 of the workweek. I've hit my required hours (37.5), and am on track to total 75 or so.

Can you imagine the paycheck??? That's like getting paid for over 90 hours straight-time!

Oh, shit. I forgot: I'm salaried....  A mere Associate, but still salaried....

See!  And didn't "salary" sound like a step up?  Like you were gonna be someone, make a difference, make more friggin' money?  Hah! 75 hours-no overtime?  I think they still have to give some comp time off or something don't they?
Kathy (who is very sorry you're working your butt off and insists that you take a mental health day soon)

Keep track of all the time, if they decide to screw you over you can sew and get all the over time pay even though you are salary. It’s been done many times and the employee normally wins since salary does not entitle the employer to use you like a slave.

Salaried or not, you may be entitled to some kind of compensation.
