Girl, I thought you meant the other thing...whew!  Did not want to think about that A-Hole... [smiley=laugh.gif]

Paul98, aka Badass...First clusterhead that emailed me when I made my very first guest book post.  Then we spoke on the phone and arranged to meet - the first CH'er I met in person.  Was like meeting God or something.  Suffering with this thing for 22 years before I actually met another human being with it.  It was an awesome experience - still is that way whenever I meet a new CH'er.   ;;D

My first was Melissa in Nashville at the airport.  We quickly zipped off together to get a room at a hotel.

It was the convention and after the 30 minute ride, at the front desk her room request was four floors away from whatever room I got.       ;)

In IM - Billy J
In person - Bob G

I will never ever forget talking to Langa on the phone, Tanner/Tim as well.  Each and every CH'er is an amazing exp.

BlueMeanie, Our lunch was great and I did not want it to end.  We walked by each other in the hotel and both of us turned around and knew that we had found an other ch'er.

If you have never talked to or met another sufferer / supporter, you dont know what you are missing.

warm feeling. Actually meeting people who understand what you go through is life changing, when you know you are not alone

My first live conversation (phone or in person) was a group thing with Jonny, chewy, Beth, Bill, and Sean (I cant remember the waitresses name but I do have pictures of chewy and her).

That whole night was awesome.  Makes me want to meet more of you.

Anyone who is going to be in Missouri at any time, let me know.  I'll make an effort to find you!  (I live in the southwest part of the state)

So I guess Bethany was my fist woman!

Linda Howell, God bless her pea-pickin' heart ;;D last year sometime-sorry I am sooooo bad with dates.
She brought me an E-tank and mask.  I have asked her to adopt me, cause she cooks way better than I do, but Jim doesn't want to have to raise me. ::)
1st telephone call from CH-Cathi (thong-queen) ;;D
who totally blew me away with her compassion and strength and that she friggin' cared enough to call me all the way from Oregon!
First group of clusterheads-Sacramento-Charlotte, Linda, BBZ, Guiseppe, Carl, Bob P, Cathi.   ;;D
A good time was had by all-we kept finishing each others sentences...and drank all the coffee at the hotel...and walked all over Old Sacramento licking psychedelic toads.
I just love y'all!

In person Mo Graham in the UK and Frank in the US. I thought it was Donna until literally just now but Kevins post just reminded me Frank actually waited for David and me at the airport as our flights were within 20 minutes of each other. I'm still counting Donna though cos she's a girl and Frank is a mere male!  ;) (You can check in too you little turd Frank!)

My very first ch'er contact ever anywhere was my own adorable lovely Charlie. The first person to respond to me and my "Scarecrow" cos I'll ALWAYS love him the most  :-*

December 13, 2003....New Orleans...I met Stevegeebe, Tracey, BarbD, and Edna.   This was the best Christmas gift a person could ever receive.

January, 2004..Davenport, Iowa....I met Jackie & Blake for the first time in person.  (Jackie...you're the greatest.   :-*)   I met Elaine  :-*....and a whole truck load of y'all.   Lot's of tears were shed/shared in Davenport.

February 28, 2004, I met DJ for the first time....a day I'll always remember.

It goes without saying...that each and every one of you here, on this board, mean more to me than I could ever find the words to say.

I love all of you....whether we've met, or not.   I love the thought of you all being here...and the offering of your great friendship.   I love knowing that I have a place to go whether it's for a laugh...or to cry.  I love the peace..that comes from knowing...that I'm never alone.

My love,

I began IM'ing-Eric (E-double), Linda, and Jonny here on the board right after I found this place in Feb 2006.  It was clearly my darkest hour and they and several others threw me a line and pulled me up. I would try to name them all, but I am sure I would overlook someone, I have a bad memory.

In person Paul (Vig) during one of his visits to Tucson, and then Bill (brewcrew) and Michael(Wildhaus) at the Milwaukee AP.  And then of course, all of the wonderful folks at MilCon 2006.  Best connections I have made since this awful thing started in '92.

First group of clusterheads-Sacramento-Charlotte, Linda, BBZ, Kathy, Carl, Bob P, Cathi.

And all because Linda coaxed me out of my comfort zone and convinced me to try a meet and greet. To think I almost didn't go. It's the reason I'm organizing the San Diego meet and greet in January. One of the most moving experiences of my life, and damned near all we did, (besides hug a lot) was talk. For the millionth time thank you all again.

First - Nani - by phone

Second - Beeyul, with the beautiful voice, face to face at lunch.

Third - it's a tie - Brewcrew (Bill) and Ricky (another good old gal - but much younger than me  :( )at the airport in Milwaukee.

From that point on, I was inundated with new faces and could finally put that face to a name.  I've found so many new "family".  It's wonderful.

The first I meet personally was a lady named Maress (sp)(pronounced Mar-reace). She told me that she had written the first misson statement for OUCH. Very nice lady that told me of heavy physical execise at the first twinge may help. That was long before I found Trex..... ;;D

...what a great thread....  charlie was the first response I got when I first found this madhouse(and his famous "Dr Wright's Technique.)  I think bobW was the first phone contact, but it might have been mastifflvr (which STILL looks to me like *massiveflavor*) and to whom I probably owe my continued existence...

My first face-to-face was BarbD in Tyler, Texas, closely followed by Miklos and DonnaD. Truly a life altering experience and one I will always cherish. The ride on my scoot through the rain for about four hours that day was one of the most... *apprehensive? things I have ever done. I mean, I wanted to get there, but I was pretty freaked that I was about to meet someone who *knew* about the MOFO. And when I finally got there, I was just amazed how *easy* it was to share experiences and the feeling that I wasn't alone anymore.

The ride that afternoon, back to Austin and the setting sun, was about the best I've ever had...no longer alone in my pain and comforted by the fellowship that I was lucky enough to discover.

aw hell... I just hope I get another chance to meet some more CHers and to *Pay it Forward* for as long as it takes to find a end to this thief that steals so much from our lives.

Notfer, that was my first chance to meet any CH'ers as well.

I had spoken on the phone to Barb D first.  Then met you and Miklos and Barb in Tyler.  You are SO RIGHT.  It was truly a life altering experience.  I am not sure which one of you I saw first as I was trying to decide which of you was the axe murderer.  (Later, I found out it was most likely, Mik...but he kept his composure that day ;) !)

First person to respond to me on the board was Ramon.

Seems like just yesterday I found you all.  Hope that I never lose you.

My first personal meeting was with my sister in law who had been suffering for more than thirty years & had kept it quiet because no one else understood & it was just too hard to explain.
The second was a long time boyhood friend & best man at my wedding, we had lost personal contact with each other through living & working in separate towns, it was only a chance meeting of our wives at the airport where my wife works & the normal how’s thing going etc that they realized that both hubby’s suffered from the same thing & just didn’t bother to let each other know.

My first by phone Aussie Brian last Tuesday, I’ll remember that for the rest of my life.

Have to be careful here

Believe the first i did have the guts to chat to was Lady E "never regret that"then it was Charlie and Edna"Edna is my clusterangel"

The first i did meet in RL here was Linda Howell and Dave Harlan when we arrived in Nashville in 2004.
Then Charlie arrived

Both me and Bente love you "blondie"Linda"Could not resist that one"

Linda saved me by inviting me out for a ciggie while waiting for the luggage, and there i did meet the "infamous"knuclehead ClusterChuck and his lovely daughter and guardian angel Stephanie.

Rest of the history you all know

Lots of love to all

I am pretty sure the first clusterhead I met in person was the axe murderer, NancyC ...  at a Carolinas, Georgia, Virginia get together ... I have met PLENTY of other axe murderers since then ...  and hope to meet MANY more!

The first time I met Linda Howell, as she walked up to me, I said to her "Who the fuck are YOU?" heehee   (She thought I was an a$$hole, until she met me in person .. Now I have been able to pull the wool over her eyes, and she actually thinks I am a decent human being!)  (How WRONG she is!!  I AM an a$$hole!!!)

Ah the stories I could tell about the people I have met!!!

Linda was the first to personally contact me and welcome me to the fold.

Can't recall who was the first to talk to on the phone.  It was a rough time and several people called me with words of encouragement.

First clusterhead in person was KOP.

All in all, this whole famn damily rocks.

First response to my first post at CH.com was from DJ.
"Welcome to the most painful place on the Internet".

First CH'ers face-to-face I met was a roomfull at the Vegas OUCH. Can't remember who's hand I shook first or who hugged me first. Probably Barbara and Bob P.

As of this time other than going to the chatroom here I have never met or talked to another CH'er.  I am eagerly looking forward to the time when I do get the honor.
It might sound kind of cornballish but it has been only since I have found this website and group that I have been able to feel human about this shit.  You guys are great and Thanks for just being you.

Well Bill you have a huge meet and greet in Davenport Iowa in January and then Richmond for the OUCH Convention in July (I can't wait!) so get planning and see if you can make either.. or both!
There really is nothing like meeting another clusterhead I promise  :)

That was my experience as well.  Up until I found this site and discovered other, actual human beings who get this stuff, it was like Invasion of the Body Snatchers twice a year--either getting a visit from some vicious alien that nobody else could see or feel, or waiting to see if it would show up again.

Here, I found people who not only treated it matter-of-factly as a normal part of who they were, but who could actually joke about it.  It makes a lot of difference to me.

Looking forward to my first face-to-face meeting.

Best wishes,

George

I'd never tried the imitrex tip before.  In Nashville, During a hit, Paul was my angel, and talked me into it.  (didn't take much arm twisting either)

Not sure if it was nervousness, or just lack of fatty tissue in my arm, but Paul hit the muscle when shootin it up for me.  But I think the heart shape of that bruise speaks loudest when it comes to the care and compassion between sufferers.

I almost knocked Vig down at the airport, and I consider him my angel to this day.  He's the one who convinced me to try the clusterbuster method of treatment and I'm forever in his debt for that!!!

Paul you ROCK!

Great thread!

I've not actually met anyone yet, but when I first came to Clusterville, Aussie Brian took me under his wing and made me feel at home.   Also Jeep, Frank went out of his way to make me feel welcome.   I miss reading his posts, and Rex too.  Such is life....

I don't post much anymore but visit often. This place is wonderful and I thank you all for keeping it going, and providing a laugh in spite of the pain we endure.

Yes, a very nice thread.

First PM contacts were, I believe, Nani, Helen, Margi, RacerNC (Bill)

First phone contacts were SandyC and Tim (Tanner).

All of you have hooked me in though.

In a perfect world, clusterheads would rule all. Our ability to solve problems (I've seen all of the problems of the world solved here every day)
Our compassion for others (I've never seen such compassion from what many would define as strangers to each other in my life)
Our strong opinions (......)
Our ability to come together "at the end of the day" (sic) and do a big internet hug, no matter what has been said.

Scott
