I think it's interesting that half the ex-cops on the board glommed right onto the donut thing.   ;)

Best,

OOOOHHHH a headache AND a fat ass..

But really I don't find this amusing because so many newbies are on board lately and I know that feeling of desperation and they might take this shit seriously. I think we put up with enough misinformation.

Dear Spudnik,

Please don't take the joking seriously.  It is not amimed at you.  The sarcasm is aimed at the idiot you have for a pharmacist who is passing out bad medical advice without a license.  We hear so many of these bits of "advice" and panaceas that we tend to get a little sarcastic in return.

I recognize you are looking for any way to help your husband, and coming here with the question was the right thing for you to do.  I am thriled with you that your husband was PF for two days, but I assure you the dognut and milk had nothing to do with it.  If it did I would move to a Krispy Kreme franchise even if the diabetes killed me.  At least I would die with this  ;;D on my face.

just wanted to check up on this. I tried it out this morning and it made a hell of a mess, how is it to be taken, is an an oral treatment? its not to be injected or taken as a suppository is it???

I can see where it might work.

Place the donut on a hard surface. Smash your head into the donut while pouring hot milk onto your crotch.

Might be a bit of a distraction from the head ache pain.

Don't be silly.  The milk is to be injected with your trex injection system and the donut a suppossitory will kill most HAs within 3 hours.

Seriously though, higher blood sugar never seems to help my headaches in fact some sweets (chocolate for sure) are a trigger for me.

Maybe your pharm thinks he knows better and was diagnosing your husband with hypoglycemia?

Either way, look around for more tried and true tips and suggestions.  This one seems rather insane to me.  How would a morning donut be a preventative that lasts all day?  Also, have you taken the quiz on the left to make sure it is clusters and not another type??

Just trying to be helpful.

I really want to know little more about the headaches.

Never had any luck with such a concoction. My breakfasts consist of a raisin bagel and coffee so thick I have to eat it with a fork. Don't know if it worked. Didn't hurt.

well thats probably why it as not worked for me.
i thought you had to put the doughnut over your eye, then drill a hole , in the centre...then pour the milk in. ;;D

The hole in a doughnut is the healthy part.
The only problem is that you have to eat the rest of the doughnut to get to the healthy bit. ;;D

I'm sorry, I just have to say this...

Lots of people here are apologizing for laughing and saying it is at the Pharmacists expense.   I've noticed that Spudnik hasn't responded to this thread after the first post.

Does it strike anyone as strange that she/he would actually believe this might help and actually post it here asking if anyone has tried this?    PULEASE.

I think I'm getting cranky.

Linda, I just got an IM from another clusterhead who knows her and is concerned she will be scared away by the joking.  If you willote it is only her third posting, and CH is totally new to her.  It is her husband who suffers, and she is grasping at straws.  I IM'ed her to try to explain our attempts at humor, but have not yet heard back.  Hopefully she will understand and hang around long enough to get some real info.

Ya know kids -- this might REALLY have some merit.

We've never tested the theory of blood sugar being a contributing factor in CH. We get hit during the night when our blood sugar is low or wake with a shadow in the morning when it's low.

Reminded me of when I was a little kid. My mother had a "home remedy" for pain. She'd mix water and milk with some honey to sweeten it and heat it. This was given to us for any pain we had from headaches to cramps to a broken toe. Funny thing was -- it worked.

Oh crap! This would mean that my advice for everything - "get a donut" - would actually work for ch! ::)

I actually ate plenty of those during my early ch days and it didn't work for me.
