Title: Re: SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM!! Post by LeLimey on Oct 26th, 2006, 1:53pm I'd like to see them all, I don't want to choose by title as that can be misleading, some of the best books I've ever read had the duffest of titles! I don't care of you post or pm honeybun but I at least would like them all! love Helen x |

Title: Re: SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM!! Post by Black_Eyed_Girl on Oct 26th, 2006, 3:49pm The polls are closed. I'm a little late but that's ok. And the final top 3 are: A."The Angel and I", G."Questions of Life", and C"All Wet"! So here they are. The Angel and I I stood next to an angel & called out your name. Looking at me the angel replied, "I am here for you." Taking a step away, I again called out your name. Stepping closer again the angel said, "I am here for you." Walking through the never ending darkness, I again called out your name. The angel was suddenly there & said, "I am here for you." Shaking my head I explained that they were not the one I needed. Sighing the angel smiled. "I was there next to you, & only a step away. I came to through the darkness, & now you say you do not need me. My friend, you keep calling my name, but run because I am not who you think I am." Pausing the angel took my hands, and placed them on my heart. "I am here for you." Questions of Life If life is a dream why can't I wake up? And if I'm so rich why do only tears fill my cup? If I'm so poor then why do I have everything I need? And if I'm so loved why am I all alone? If I've got so many friends why do I get left at home? So again I ask: If life is a dream why can't I wake up? All Wet I sit under and open sky. Under a tree is where I lie. Suddenly I feel a small splash. The rain comes in a flash. I can make it to the house, I bet. By the time I get there, I'm all wet. Maybe next time I'll post the rest. We'll see how you like these ones for now. Always, Felicia 8) |

Title: Re: SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM!! Post by LeLimey on Oct 27th, 2006, 5:20am I can't get over how different all three are. Your style os so varied its flabbergasting Felicia! I still want to see the others though. ;;D The angel and I is like a story with a moral, it reminds me of "If" and poems like that which I love. Question of life is very profound and "uncomfortable" making. It has the ability to make me ask questions I don't really want to think about so its a thought provoker category for me and the third is just pure fun. Its the sort of poem you read aloud, smile and crash the book shut just for the sheer fun of hearing the noise.. like when you read to kids. Thats one I could imagine reading to Jasper, doing just that and then going out to stomp in puddles together :) |

Title: Re: SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM!! Post by AussieBrian on Oct 27th, 2006, 8:00am I'm the first to admit that the thoughts expressed are terrific in themselves, but as poetry goes they leave me quite cool. To my mind a poem must have rhyme and time or it's merely prose badly punctuated. Like music without a beat - a melding of sounds and noise, terrifically important to the 'musician', but music it ain't. I look at these so-called masterpieces of modern art, paint splashes and cows intestines, to be reminded of that lovely description of the genre. "Created by the incompetent and sold by the unscrupulous to the gullible". Not to take away for a moment your flair for original thought, Felicia, just your layout and treatment of your audience. Keep writing always for it's a joy in itself, Brian. |

Title: Re: SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM!! Post by Black_Eyed_Girl on Oct 28th, 2006, 8:33am I'm glad you liked them. I'll try and get more up soon. But you've got to tell me which ones. I've already had a request for D and G. Please let me know so I can find them in the mess I call my room. ;) Brain, you sorta confused me because I wasn't sure if you liked them or not. But when dad explained that you're a musician I understoodwhere you where coming from. I might try to find some that ryhmed for you if I can ever find my big book poetry. Again glad you all liked them. Hope you like the next ones just as well. Always, Felicia 8) |

Title: Re: SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM!! Post by Black_Eyed_Girl on Oct 29th, 2006, 9:11pm Okay folks here there are. It took me a minute to find them but I've got 'em. They were under the bed. ;) Anyways, here ya go! My Broken Everything My broken heart beats. Flub-dub. Flub-dub. Crying eyes drip. Drip-drop. Drip-drop. My flaming lungs can't breath. Choke on thin air. My knees crumple & I fall down real hard. My feet feel like dead weights as I try to move forward. My face is hard as stone frozen hard from crying. So on I live, with this dead, broken everything. My broken heart beats. Flub-dub. Flub-dub. Crying eyes drip. Drip-drop. Drip-...no drop. A Short Life Trapped in this life, with no way out. Holding on, waiting for you to hear my shouts. Time ticks by, like sand in an hour glass. I sit here waiting, preying it to pass. Memories ring loud in my head. Blink and suddenly I'm dead. You Lied You said you where my friend; You lied. You said we'd tell each othere everything; You lied. You said you'd always tell me the truth; but guess what? YOU LIED!!! Try those on for size. Hope ya like 'em! Always, Felicia 8) |

Title: Re: SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM!! Post by AussieBrian on Oct 29th, 2006, 11:05pm Much more to my taste, thank you. Expressions like drip-drop and flub-dub are terrific used like that and are called onamatapoea. Best I ever heard (and I wish it was my own) was a high school girl writing verse about cockroaches and she described them as "Ukky and yukky and lurking and bleeaagh!" Happy daze, Brian. |

Title: Re: SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM!! Post by DonnaHar on Oct 29th, 2006, 11:59pm Keep the poems coming.....very entertaining. Thank you. A quick, off topic question to Brian....... Looking at the members map of where we live, you are miles out in the water. Did you just miss the mark or was it intentional? |

Title: Re: SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM!! Post by AussieBrian on Oct 30th, 2006, 3:52am I'll be honest, Donna, in that while it's an island in its own right, it's also rather small and more a hazard to shipping. (Edited to add: Recently shifted camp and have changed my profile accordingly. Thanks for the reminder.) And we now return you to your regular program. |
