Title: Well now my Boss knows Post by Bill_G. on Oct 24th, 2006, 6:37am Yesterday was only the third day on a new job. In the middle of my shift the monster hit me starting as a 5 and going up from there. I immediately reached for my pocket where I keep my pills only to find out that I had left them in my car. Normally this would not be a problem, but my new job is in a "Federal Trade Zone and we are only allowed out of the building at lunch break. I asked the security people if I could run out to, my car, explaining that my medicine was there and I was becoming very ill (now I'm at 7-8). Security called the wharehouse boss and I was allowed to get my meds. About 2 hours later the monster finally left me. Not before everyone saw the pacing, cussing, hitting things, In general these people saw me at my worst. These people must be angels on earth. Not only letting me go to my car, but I was allowed to stay on paid overtime to finish the tasks that I had been given to do prior to the attack. I think that maybe I have found a place where I will be able to finish my working days. I'm lucky, in only ten years or so and I will be able to retire for good. Enough ramblin' thanks to all for letting me vent. PF wishes to all Bill |

Title: Re: Well now my Boss knows Post by E-Double on Oct 24th, 2006, 8:58am Glad you are in a place where they appear to be compassionate. You did say it left after 2 hrs. This was with taking an abortive??? You may want to look into a better med to keep in your arsenal! E |

Title: Re: Well now my Boss knows Post by Karla on Oct 24th, 2006, 9:48am I agree with E. You should be able to abort your ha in under 15 min. if you use imitrex or zomig nasal spray or imitrex shots. Oxygen will abort in about 20 min. I probabaly just misunderstood you. |

Title: Re: Well now my Boss knows Post by Linda_Howell on Oct 24th, 2006, 11:25am If you haven't already, print out this letter to take to your boss and anyone else that may need to know. It could be invaluable in getting them to really understand. http://www.ouch-us.org/chgeneral/colleagueletter.htm |

Title: Re: Well now my Boss knows Post by TxBasslady on Oct 24th, 2006, 3:00pm It's great to hear that things seemed to work out good for you, as far as your employer. I don't take Imitrex, never have, but it does appear that the pill form is much slower acting. Have you tried 02? Combined with a clustermasx, this has been a godsend for me. Again, glad to hear that things went well. PF vibes, Jean |

If you are going to go the trex route then you should switch to injections and that 2hr attack which most likely just went away on its own could be aborted in 5-7 minutes Good luck and print out the letter that Linda suggested! E |

Title: Re: Well now my Boss knows Post by Bill_G. on Oct 25th, 2006, 1:40am Hi Everyone, Just got home from work and I had to let you know how it went. I took the letter in to give to my lead man and he started to look then passed it right up the chain to his boss's boss. The big cheese came to me and said, " I don't care what kind of meds you take, as long as you don't get sleepy." Like Travis Tritt says "IT'S A GREAT DAY TO BE ALIVE" ;;D ;;D ;;D |

Title: Re: Well now my Boss knows Post by Bob P on Oct 25th, 2006, 8:29am The numbers of sufferers in that letter are screwy. First it says less than 1% of the population. Then 69 out of 100,000 which is way less than 1%; .00069 or 7 one hundreths of 1%. |

Title: Re: Well now my Boss knows Post by Tiannia on Oct 25th, 2006, 10:31am Isn't " .00069 or 7 one hundreths of 1%. " less the 1%? It is true taken literally. |

Title: Re: Well now my Boss knows Post by Bob P on Oct 25th, 2006, 2:25pm I think the less than 1% is from someone mistaking decimal places - .01 (one percent) vs less than .01 percent which is .0001. It's the difference between 3,000,000 and 207,000. |
