So I hear that Oslo is a great place to have children.

ONE YEAR MATURNITY LEAVE!!!!!! PAID!!!!! USA needs to step up!!

Free healthcare for children, until they turn 7!

Lots of great things in Oslo...got any room?! ;)

Think I want to move to Oslo....

Steph - you don't need to go that far - our girls here get the same thing. They call the first 6 months maternity leave which is just for the new Mom and the next 6 months is called parental leave and either parent can take it. The employer must keep your job for you at the same rate of pay as before you went off on leave.

The downside is that it's not full pay but it is about 65% of your net paycheque which isn't too bad. Full pay would be nicer, but as a province, we'd likely go broke then!! LOL!
