Which one are you rooting for?  I'm all for the Cards, but it's going to be a straight uphill battle.  We're definitely the underdogs!  Somehow our pitching got better in the postseason.  I'm not complaining about that, but Rolen and Pujols have to start hitting the ball!

Im not a big baseball fan but if i had to choose i'd say the Tigers simply because they aint been there in a while and the whole counted out but came back thing.....

I'm really glad the Cards made it.  Love playing them and a good rematch of '68 when St. Louis was the dominant team but we won.  Just hoping for a great series here in Detroit, good baseball and with the series going this way again ;;D.

Cards! This is their 3rd world series in the last 4-5 years, and although this is not the strongest team they've had, they're good enough to beat the Tigers.

The Cards were in thhe Series in 2004 and before that 1987, I believe.  Not 3rd in last 5 years.  I think.

I am a Red Sox fan but my wife a Cardinals fan.  It will be fun rooting for the Cards this time.  Hopefully I can get to a World Series game again this year.  I am shocked the Cards won game 1.

Don't underestimate the Cards!  That's one thing that's on our side is that everybody thinks we're the underdog and that we have no chance.  I hope that we can prove everybody wrong!

Like I said in chat tonight, I am getting good at calling these games and UFC fights. I called the last 5 UFC's and...
Friday I told everyone that Card's would take game 1, since we were still warmed up, but Tiger's would take game 2. Hmmmm.... am I psychic?  ;;D

Despite the odds, I say the Cards will take the series. Zombie agrees with me too, as he is a newborn Cards fan.  ;)

I've never seen dirt look exactly like pine tar before. And I think Kenny Rogers needs a anger management classes. ;;D

As a dude in his 40's, as a Detroit native, who remembers 1968 and 1984, you jsut gotta love those Tig's this year. I don't care what he had on his hand, the guy is in the zone when he's pitching. His whole internal conversation is as though he's channeling the days of Mark Fidrych and Tiger Stadium. It's great to see and reminds those of us in our 40's that it ain't all over yet. We all might have our own World Series-like moment that we can rise over and kick ass.

I was only 1 year old when they won the last series, so needless to say, I don't remember it.  I will flip out if we win.  Oh  my gosh, it makes me so hyper just thinking about it!  GO CARDS!!!

Tigers tonight, sorry.

Best thing I read regarding the Roger's issue was from another team's pitching coach who indicated that in the summer it is common to use shaving cream or suntan lotion for GRIP. When it's cold, pine tar. It is accepted, because most batters, now that they are facing 100 mph fastballs on a regular basis, prefer to have a pitcher that has good grip, as good grip means good control. It's the guys throwing loopy things from slippery subtances that they don't like. So let's all love Kenny Rogers for going the extra mile for good grip.

Mind you, I don't think it had any affect on him since he wiped it off or whatever, but I'm not about to go that far with it.

It doesn't matter how they spin it, the bottom line is it's cheating. And I'm not naive enough to think he's the only one who's doing it but he's the one who got caught.
BTW, the weather isn't looking too good in STL this morning so I doubt that they'll play tonight.

I was hanging with Ralph Nader at the Faculty Club at SIUE, listening to the final game last time that the Cards won.  Needless to say, since Ralph went over to the Dark Side, I don't return his phone calls.

Just got home a bit ago... so I missed calling 1 out of 5 games. I can handle being wrong ONCE in awhile.  ;;D

Trivia night was cancelled tonight for the world series, and we wound up at a different bar celebrating anyways. It was crazy!!! I had told my buddy Jake I predicted Tigers for tonight and Cards to take the series tomorrow night, and he said "If tiger's win tonight I am kicking you in the nuts!"

So, after we took the victory and had done all the celebratory shots, I yelled down to my crotch "We Won! You guys are safe tonight!" and everyone was dyign laughing.

BTW - Before I made it to the pub, I got hit by the beast in public at Taco Bell. Used a Trex nasal, left to walk to the pub, and may be labeled the 'town crazy' now due to my beard and the fact my hand was pressed into my neck like I was trying to stop blood from gushing from it as I walked to the pub. When I walked in, Jake knew just by looking at me (he has known me since I went chronic) what was up, and I had two shots of Liquid Cocaine waiting for me (1 part Jager, 1 part Rumpleminze and 1 part 151) to start off. Lets just say - that totally KILLS the drainage and taste of the Trex!!! And within a few minutes, I felt goooooooood.

No hits since then, and still celebrating!!!!
If I had money and bet on the series back when I said we would win it... oh man.
