I like that everyone will be "coffee" colored people.  How couldn't the human race not become as one??  What I would be interested in seeing, and I wish I was a fly on the wall for this one, is exactly how the "dim-witted, ugly, squat goblin-like creatures" will look. [smiley=laugh.gif]

You think clusterheads will be wiped out by that point? [smiley=huh.gif]

Dang, I'm a giant.  Who knew?

Not sure about splitting into two species, though.  I can see where that might happen if we end up with isolate populations on different planets, but people have always had a way of blurring the genetic lines.  The first thing that always happens when one population encounters another is enthusiastic genetic mixing.  It may not be acknowledged or approved, but that's what happens.

Fun speculative read, though.

Which would you choose?  Eloi or Morlock?  The Eloi always reminded me of short Hollywood celebrities--sort of an entire race of Tom Cruise's.  The Morlocks were kinda ugly and their diet was off-putting, but the Eloi WERE the diet.  Either way doesn't sound too great.       ;)

George- If you think about it, right now there are people who refuse certain things, i.e. the flu shot.  

I don't get the flu shot, nor does my husband or children.  I, and my family, have had the flu in the past and we just remedy it the old fashioned way with lots of blankets, chicken soup, cold packs, etc.  The flu virus morphs and just because you get the shot doesn't mean a different strain can't get you.  

Our elderly get the flu shot because if medical science didn't interfere, they'd die from the flu.  Therefore it prolongs their life.  Humans ARE relying more and more on medications to keep them from getting ill.  

In reality, aren't we NOT supposed to live till we're 100. :-/  Isn't that what natural selection is all about?

I love thought provoking articles like this. ;;D

BTW, I'd choose the Eloi based on asthetic reasons only at this current time. ;)
