Title: Heard on radio Post by Sandy_C on Oct 18th, 2006, 8:19am While driving in to work this morning, listened to radio where they were talking about this poor girl who was in excruciating pain - diagnosed trimengeal nuralgia. They called this disease the "suicide disease" because a large percentage of people who have it kill themselves. Docs tried every kind of drug to help this poor girl, to no avail. But, she was cured! Wanna know how? They removed her tongue ring. So, if any of you have tongue rings - take em out now. Maybe it will cure the CH. ;;D (Sure it will) Sandy |

Title: Re: Heard on radio Post by Charlotte on Oct 18th, 2006, 9:26am I do have pierced ears but I haven't worn earrings regularly since 1973 when I scratched my daughter's forehead with the wire. The tongue thing would interfere with talking - can't have that. c |

Title: Re: Heard on radio Post by Karla on Oct 18th, 2006, 9:31am I read that article also. Said toungue peircings can cause heart problems, brain abcesses, blood disorders, tentnaus, and that is just to name a few. Doesn't seem worth the risk to me. |

Title: Re: Heard on radio Post by Carl_D on Oct 19th, 2006, 3:36am I used to go to a church with a woman who had Trigeminal Neuralgia. We used to talk alot, and her condition was just as wicked as CH, but hers could be triggered just by the wind blowing on her face. I recently ran into her at the library where she now works. She is doing great and has had 3 or 4 surgeries and is now pain free after years of agony. It had been years since I seen her, as I left the church in 2000. She said she always kept me in prayer and often thought of me, and I told her about the remission period I had and how I have my zest for living back. It's a funny thing to think about it but, you never know who out there is praying for you in the midst of thier own sufferings. I didn't know about the metal connection to TN. That is some wild wacky stuff. I can see why the TN would be called a suicide disease. Unlike clusters, the pain can last non stop for days on end like a migraine, only the pain ranges more in the KIP scale. Peace, Carl |
