As a result of a member suggestion OUCH-US has designated November 15th as Supporter Appreciation Day!

I love it, Bill.    It's way past time that we acknowledge and give our thanks to those that help us get through this Godawful affliction that we have.  Making a special day just for them is a great idea.

How many of could really say that they could actually survive this CH s**t, if it weren't for the people who give us their caring, their information, their love, their experiences, and that they are "just there" when we need them.  

Our primary supporters are, of course, our husbands, wives, children, extended family and friends.  But, please don't forget, our supporters are also other sufferers, who, in my experience, have always been here or at OUCH to answer my questions, allow me to vent and cry, and to just send the hugs and vibes when needed.

I hope that there are hundreds and hundreds of posts on the OUCH board for our supporters.  Without them, whoever they are, we wouldn't be here.

  and if you have a supporter who would not normally read the board, maybe now is the time to show and tell them how much they are appreciated.

As a CH supporter for 15+ years I appreciate that you all appreciate us.

It's nice that PF days have descended on our house for awhile.  I'm storing up the peace and the tranquility that only those in remission and those who support can understand.

This is a great idea...Thank you Bill!!!

I am fortunate to have never had to live this ordeal with DJ, however, I have seen video, read articles, books, etc. and could never imagine the pain and frustration y'all go through.  

I remember DJ telling me a story of the first time he ever witnessed someone else having an attack (he was still getting them at the time), and he said he felt absolutely horrible for his ex-wife, and what she had to go through when he was still having headaches.

I support each and everyone of you...that's why I'm here and so is clusterheadaches.com.

Know that just because I don't live with this on a daily basis like most, I am here for you all in anyway I can be.

:)Sounds like a gr8 idea to me!! I would love to go to any meeting for CH'ers.......or their supporters!! I am a supporter....and will always be One!! I love my clusterhead with all my heart!! The only thing is....NO ONE understands what that means!!  :-/ It would be kewl for supporters to get to met.......WE know what we have to deal with........IN THE NAME OF LOVE!!

I see you're in NC, there are quite a few of my favourite people from the boards there and next years convention isn't too far from you in Richmond... I'll see you there I hope!
Why not see if you can meet up with a few from here beforehand? I don't know how far you would be from Beeeyul (NC_Racer) Or Sandy or Vig but I'd highly recommend meeting them if you can  :)

[smiley=hug.gif]Thank You LeLimey!! I don't know how to "move" around this website. Hopefully, the CH'ers will respond back to me. We live in Clinton, NC, located in Sampson Co. We would love to meet anyone close by! Ray (my ch'er) has never met anyone that suffered from CH's!! I never knew what they were, until I married Ray! He has told me about them, then when we got married, his clusters came back! (I didn't think that was a good sign of us getting married!! [smiley=laugh.gif]....But his CH's stopped when the dr. put him on topamax, and maxalt! Only for them to start back this past Sept! He is not PF, having an occasional attack! Please email me, or im me......I am on yahoo as ti_beach. I bless all of you for being here!! Prayers for PF days!! Hugs! Robin

And just to add one more group - at least from my point of view - parents!  :)

Aside from folks at this site, my parents are the only supporters I've got - and while they might not see me have actual attacks very often since we don't live together, they certainly support me so much.  I call them about 5 times a day on any given day usually.  We talk about good things and bad things - anything really....but my parents both have intricate knowledge of oxygen, frova, and all of the other headache-related terms that I wish to God they never had to know about.  I don't think they expected to have to learn all these things in their lifetimes!  During one hospital stay, my mom stayed every single night.  And the rest of them, they were at my side every day.  They've spent thousands of $$ on my care.  They've made 2am runs to the pharmacy.  They've been here to receive the oxygen delivery.  They've personally made trips to pick up oxygen for me.  They've made trips at all times of day to the ER for various emergencies (not always cluster-related directly....but a lot of them due to treatments I've had for headache and a long list of other reasons!).  And they're just always there for me, no matter what.

Sure - we don't always see eye to eye...  Afterall, they're PARENTS!!  But...they've done more for  me than anybody - and I can't thank them enough - so on this Supporter Appreciation Day...I'm going to go out of my way to make sure they know.

And that's not to discount all my supporters that I've found here, too.  But my parents are just the ones who I see and talk to all the time... ;)

Every one of ya is more special to me than words can ever say!

My wonderful groom (brewcrew) just brought me a dozen red roses for the sole purpose of thanking me for my support . . . .

I'm so grateful he's pain free right now - with all the other things happening in our lives the pain free days are truly a blessing!

As this day draws to a close, I hope clusterheads everywhere have taken a few minutes to say thank you for all the love and care and emotional support their supporters provide daily.

;;DWelp......WE and our CLUSTERHEADS....are a special kind of group!!! WE know this! Our clusterheads suffer with their pain when they are in a cycle..... And so do WE.....WE understand that!! We don't feel the actual "pain", But WE Feel for them!! WE accept them for who they are!! I LOVE RAY!.....and I WILL BE HIS SUPPORTER!!

Both of my main supporters, Jacki @ work, and Joe @ home, enjoyed Ouch Supporter Day.  I took Jacki a winter bouquet and an ivy plant and emailed her the thank you thead, and for Joe, I just gave him lots of hugs and yelled out, "hey Joe, and read him posts."

Thank you, everyone, you are all supporters, and thank you for helping me make yesterday special for my best supporters.
