Title: What made you happy today? Post by sandie99 on Oct 10th, 2006, 12:40pm I thought that we'd need to see some happy things in here! ;) Now, let's see, what made me happy today... Well, I did see two beautiful birds, next to my window. According to my dictionary their species were called great tit in English. (is it just me, or is the name funny??? ;;D) http://www.birdlife.fi/lintuharrastus/kuvat/talitiainen-juha-niemi.jpg And secondly, it's always great to hear my best supporter's voice... Aren't these the guys who learned how to take the tops off of containers of cream? Interesting example of cultural learning in birds--when the milkman would leave bottles of cream on front steps in Britain, some of these birds learned to peck through the foil tops to drink the cream. After a few years, the birds were doing it all over Britain. Now, of course, there probably aren't many milkmen, and containers of cream are likely in cardboard cartons, so I doubt that they're doing it anymore. What made me happy? A sunny, beautiful autumn day here--hard to be morose when it's so splendid outside. Best, George |

Going for a long walk in a few minutes with my dogs on a beautiful, sunny warm day knowing there is a nice ice cold Heineken waiting for me when I get back. |

Last night, what made me happy was having my friend Sean, a 2nd year OB resident, come and talk to me for about 15 minutes while in the ER, even though he was having a very busy night float night - and also for still being happy to hear from me at 1:30am when I finally got home! 8. Eating pumpkin cookies I made the other day! 9. Finding some cute postcards and Philadelphia souvenirs to send over the pond to a certain friend and her 3 children! ;) 10. New carpet in the apartment building! 11. Opening my front door and seeing my kitty curled up in the little wicker basket bed I bought him awhile ago, that he has only recently started lying in! I could go on...but I think that's good for now! In spite of it all, I try to remind myself of the things that make me happy every day...helps to get through everything else! :) |

I went for a walk with our dog. I took our son to school. I came to work at a job I really enjoy. I'm going to band practice tonight. Each of these things has made me happy today. |

Ozz Zombie is a very smart animal, and has already watched me ride out attacks. I went to take him for a walk after my attack ended today, and was putting my pants on when Zombie has my shoes and socks in his mouth and plops them down in front of me. Haveing a fun new companion has made me smile alot today. Getting ready to take him for yet another walk. last night he watched me ride out an atytack and whimpered for awhile. Carl |

Post by cootie on Oct 11th, 2006, 1:48am Did a little shoppin today after gettin sum things done here first......stopped in at the new HUGE craft store for a while and looked around which was kinda fun and pikced up some COOL neat things for the house....got groceries and planned some awesome meals and took my time.....then ran over to the pet store for a bit and got a few things and got my cats anouther new big carpet'd climby thing for the window they LOVE and have been on and in ever since I set it down. Fun watching them.......it was an ok day considering how depressed I felt when I got up. Takein myself shoppin helped and it turned out to be a sunny warm day too !! Shoppin fool Pam |
