I am Lee's wife.  thought you guys might want to know that Lee died last Friday night.   Shot himself in the temple with a pistol.   I thought he was doing better - he had a good day on Friday.

Though I ever knew you   For _Lee_
Though I never met you,
I knew you well.
And even though we never spoke,
your words are the ones I'll never forget.
Though I don't feel the pain as you do,
we share it like the air.
And though we were strangers,
you will always be my friend.

Rest in peace my friend. Thank the gods your pain has finally ended. You will forever live on in our memories.

Always,

We've all, or at least I have thought deep and hard about this method of becoming painfree. Clusters are more than just physical pain, its when you reach that point of mental instability from the pain, that you take it to where you see it as the only way out. :'( He's not alone, he's one of many. I wish I could of helped, I never saw it coming. :'(

What many people fail to realize is that a sudden change of behavior and attitude in a severely depressed person is a warning sign that the person has made a decision.  They have come to terms with what they feel they must do.  The turmoil is over.  The course of action is set.

There are tons of cases where the person suddenly "snapped out of it" and seemed to be happy just before they killed themselves.

I'm so very sorry to hear this...  My deepest condolences to you, Sheila and family.  It is so true that sometimes when someone gets more energy or has a suddenly good day, this is often when they have "made up their mind" to end things.  This makes it that much harder because you saw that glimpse of a good day in him, but yet he still felt that he couldn't go on.  I'm so very sorry that you all are having to go through this.  I hate this stupid beast so much because it causes so much pain, not only to ourselves but also to our loved ones...

PF wishes for eternity, Lee...

Jose

Jose, I will not diminish your tribute here, and I still feel deeply sorry for Lee's family left behind.  However, I just wanted to say that we need to remember that all of us have the courage to live each day.  It is more courageous to keep on living than to bow out.  I know Lee must have been in a tremendous amount of pain (physical and emotional) to have done this, and I mainly feel very sorry that instead of reaching out, he did this.

I can't seem to get this off my mind - I just ache for the hurt left behind for his family, and I sincerely hope that we don't hear any more news of anyone else choosing this option.

Remember to have the courage to keep on going...that's how we can honor Lee - to not give up and all support each other.

Much love,
Carrie

I'm stunned and at a loss for words.  My thoughts are with you and your family.  Rest in peace.

Sorry to hear about Lee.    I've also been touched by some close friends and family making that choice.    It hurts.  Peace to you, John D
