Title: Bad Water

Lesson learned. Never leave your boat tied to the dock in rough water. What a way to start a 3 day weekend. :(

Expensive lesson.

Awww Don, that sucks even more than you do honeybun  :-/ Here was me thinking chlorine in your gene pool was your only real problem too!
Seriously, what about insurance, is it the engine thats stuffed? David has upended more hovercraft than I can remember and he's always managed to get the engines going again so it CAN be done, don't give up and don't give in - you CAN fix it even if you aren't a Bob  :P

Sorry to hear Don.

A woman has come forward who said she had a torrid love affair with Chewy the night it went down.  Director James Cameron got word and thought it then had the makings of a truly Titanic misadventure for a three hour movie.

Just when you think things cant get worse !

Dead low tide and the boat managed to get up under the dock and wedge itself in there.

Now I have to wait for the tide to come back and hopefully free itself.

It is the one thing that maintains what sanity I have left. Home from work, in the boat, out in the harbor.

Got it pulled up to the waterline tonight. In the morning it will be beached and I can see what I've got left.

Similar thing happened to hubbys boat and it is still sitting in the garage waiting to be repaired!

And here we are having absolutely beautiful spring weather and we cant get into the water for some fishing ..

I agree, whole heartedly, this SUCKS big time!  >:(

I sure hope there is something to salvage out of it, have you tried a hook on a line to try and snag some of the gear on the bottom?

Title: Re: Bad Water
Post by chewy on Oct 9th, 2006, 1:13pm
Yup. Used a pogy snag and dragged the bottom. There is strong tidal pull here. My gear will probably wash up in Canada.

Right.  OK, geography lesson everyone.

Go here:  http://local.google.com/

Zoom to a point that you can see all of the US and Canada.  Find the MA?  Yep, that's where Chewy be.  See, the AB on Canada?  That's where I am, in the southern half. Don's fishing gear actually DOES have a better chance of reaching you, Helen! Especially considering that we are completely landlocked here in Alberta.

Sorry about your loss, Don.  That really does suck.  I think it's time to buy the Grady White now anyway.  I believe the demise of your boat is a sign...

So, don't go going into cycle over this, ok?  Just go get a new boat.   And take it out of the water at night, ok? :)
